      Update!

      May 1st, 2013

So, I've been pretty busy with school and work, haven't had much time to get things started with the project. However, this pass weekend I've decided to devote all my time to it. Here is the results of a weekends worth of work

I started by gutting my entire trunk compartment.

I definitely couldn't leave it looking like that, so I did something about it. Took out the wire brushes, painting supplies, and got to work. They battery tray needed the most attention, i'm glad it was only dust and bits of surface rust.
      IMG_3089

Lets just skip all the boring........time consuming...........stuff, like masking.
      IMG_3090

All new seals for the trunk compartment. Trunk lid seal, tail light gaskets, all the way down to a new antenna grommet. Discounted OEM parts, one of the many perks to being a BMW Technician

I'm sure your interested in the finished product and not all the crap that lead to it.

So, I laid down a few coats of Undercoating as my final coat for added protection to the Battery Tray.

And here is the completed Trunk.

        Update!

Then the following week, boxes of awesomeness started arriving at my doorstep.

        IMG_3081

I got right to it, starting laying out parts where I think I wanted them to go.
        IMG_3137

Added Teflon tape to all my fittings, keeping my fingers crossed for no leaks

        IMG_3143

Then started drilling holes for Bulk Head (PTC) connectors.

        IMG_3152

Scratched up some of my paint, not a big deal it'll get fixed.
        IMG_3153

And to top the day off I mounted my tank, I wanted to try something different. Since most people build floors for their tanks. I decided to mount mine to the deck lid. I plan on polishing the tank so it ll have to come back out soon. Most of the credit must go to my boy Pete, who has been helping me through the entire build.

Nice idea for the tank, looks awesome and doesn't compromise trunk space. form+function
