Finally.. street legal
Got some low also
Just for laughs.. tried without rear springs

It's kinda sitting on tires, but could get few cm lower i think when taking off spacers or cut some metal.. but that's just with those wheels. With the borbets i'm having, i can't probably go half this low But we'll see.
Also the guy at MOT didn't like my cool black hood.. so i had to paint it...with spray can.. well atleast i got it done
Can't wait to finish the rims and paint the front end Feels good to drive it tho.. after 3 months

Well it's ALMOST the only one, so i can allow it
Anyways.. as there's now a little pause in the build caused by lack of money.. i primered the new front bumper black so i could use it Still better than the awful original one.
Last 8 pics are made today: http://fotoalbum.ee/photos/CRDO/sets...page=23&seek=6

So, i started polishing my rims now.. one of the rears was done earlier, now got other rear one done(almost). Just have to do the polishing part with paste.. which i don't have right now
Anyway, also started one of the fronts, that one is like on half way being done
They're not perfect, but my excuse is that they had lots of damage before (i dunno what on earth the previous owner did but.. hell with that).
To get them perfect, the edges should be welded to fill some bad damages, u can see those from the last pic also.
But i don't see a real reason to get them so perfect.. i mean those damages ain't killin anybody

Awesome work. All done amongst nature like a bausss I agree with the MOT man that the hood would look better body colour but why was that a failure?
Keep it up!

I assume everyone like photos.. so i got some Nothing new tho on the looks.
Put some lighting on the front part of the interior, as originally it has one lamp in the middle of the ceiling and it lights up nothing in front.

I was pleasently surprised when i tried it in dark.. plenty of light.
Also took off the gearbox cause for now i've broken it 3 times during 100km of driving

Also took off the clutch to see in what shape it is, doesn't look too bad.
With the gearbox tho.. satellite gears doesn't look so good..

Also the body of differential is ruined cause of the breakdowns, the socket for retaining ring, that holds the ending of drive shaft from coming out of diff, is worn out.
Kinda hard to explain this in english but maybe someone, who got my problem, can correct me
Anyway, i need a new diff, as the right gearbox is kinda hard to find.
If i got something new, i'll update

So, bought a new gearbox for parts. Surprisingly found 3.733 diff, before had 4.067, so better rpm at highway. There was a little difference between the diff that had electronic speedsensor and the diff with mechanical speedo drive. But luckyli the diff housings were identical and i could change the pieces.
Anyway, assembled the "new" gearbox and installed it to the car.
Here's first steps with new gearbox
Also removed that hideous exhaust tip..
And to finish the day, i cut the last piece to trunk floor.
Anyway it rides good for now, i'm hoping it will last too.
Front rims? I dunno when i can install those I'll do my best to get tires on them, tho i myself can't wait anymore

Been quiet for a while.. have been working
Still managed to paint the hood today and the black lip from rear bumper
Unfortunately the hood needs one more good layer of paint cause it doesn't shine like it should I also have no explanation why it happened.. only logical reason is that i mixed too much fastener in it.
Also changed the engine oil over a while.. it wasn't pretty what came out
Anyways, next week i'm tryin to start with the front bumper

i posted on the first page and didnt come back after that. Im glad to see all the work you've put on the car. I enjoyed the reading and pics.
How did you fix the rear bumper to match the wider rear arches? you didnt explain that... did u?
The front bumper is from a VW mk3? did you match your bumper with just foam? no fiberglass?
IMO you need less tire in the rear so you can go lower and so it wont look like a dragster.
I **** the massive sticker in the rear window, but whatever you like on your car. Other than that i think all the work is clean and well done, props to you.
good luck with the turbo.
