OK....OK... OK..... remember how I told you all that I get distracted.

Well, I bought this:

... to sell it.

But it had a misfire. So in trying to get that straightened out I found that someone messed with the wires. So I fixed. And unfortunately drove it. And it has an original B16 in it. And it's a quick little bastard. So I'm tempted to keep it. I can only imagine how much faster my white one is going to be when it's up and running 100%. Then I will have a white one and a black one. It feels so nice to drive with the top off.

Decisions. Decisions.

Just read through the whole thing. This looks like it's definitely been a labor of love. I now want a project even more.

Labor of love is an understatement. I'm glad to know that I can motivate someone to willing cause themselves more stress in their life.

The Del Sol project is on temporary hold until I get my new air compressor and lines in. Then I will go to work. I have to replace the wheel studs and don't want to do any of that work with only hand tools.

AND on Thursday I picked up THIS!

There isn't that much wheel gap. But the road slopes down on the right side of the car. This may further delay work on the Del Sol because I'm tempted to just buy some coilovers. But I plan to sell some of my other cars that I haven't touched in a while and make my Del Sol the only real project car....

....... ok..... ok...... ok...... the MAIN project car! but with less distractions.

Yes I do. Drop and different wheels are in it's future. But later down the line as I will start to concentrate on my Del Sol.

Right now I have a few other cars that I have to do some work on so that they are ready to sell.

As a fellow Del Sol owner, I have to say I really enjoyed your build. Joined this site after reading your post in its entirety. I chose a 93 Si, tossed out the engine and threw in a K20Z3 (06 Civic Si). My car is still in progress but it drives. 5 lug conversion (using CRV knuckle and RSX hub), S2000 front brakes, ITR/RSX rear brakes and an EK steering rack (needs a few washers to mount up) and ITR steering rack (want to combine with an MR2 electric PS pump). No heat/AC or radio... Just a go kart.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the read. I don't like 93's for one reason. And that is because they don't have a trunk release inside the cabin. LOL. I would like to go K series in the future. But I have about 4 or five B series motors in the garage that have been collecting dust. And for less money and some extra pounds of boost I can get similar power levels. Was the EK/ITR rack necessary? I just swapped in a manual S rack and used the bushing off of the power rack trimmed to fit between the manual bushing and the power bracket.

Working on that. Going to sell a few of my EK's and my E30 and E34. But i picked up this nice EG hatch that uses a lot of the same parts that the injured Del Sol does.

Ok, so I sold all of these...

And I picked this up...

And was doing this

To make it look like this....

And now it won't start....

So I turned to this

And did this

And now I am on my way to pick up some wheels studs and a wheel bearing so that I can put the spindle back on. Then I can drive it around. I found another white Del Sol in the junk yard. But the fender has a couple of dents. I might just go ahead and get it since it will be better than what I currently have.

I'm currently looking for another LS mesh wheel to replace the one that fell off. It's all messed up on the hub mating surface. I was about to buy another car that had a set on it but I woke up too late that day.

The battery is also dead from sitting. I'll deal with it once I get the car rolling.

I have stopped trying to count. I use to try to keep up with it by taking pictures. I don't care anymore. Well over 100. I have my car dealers license so that's like giving a crackhead the key to the stash spot. If I want it and have the money I'll buy it. I'm trying to stop buying things that I like and buy things that I can sell. So that I can concentrate on less "projects". (I'm also typing this as I am looking at two supra shells that are for sale)

UPDATE:

I charged the battery. I should be able to pick up my spindle tonight. So, if I'm able to pick it up I'll install it tomorrow and make sure all my lug nuts are on properly and THEN drive it around.

A friend of mine asked me a good question about my suspension last week that made me think. My front struts might not be blown. They might be bottoming out with the heavier engine. So once I get the car back on all four wheels I will see about raising the front end to diagnose if that is my issue.

Yes. But not any that I'm willing to sell. Sorry.

UPDATE:
Finally got my spindle back with all new wheel studs and wheel bearing last night. My buddy that did the work forgot the rotor when we met up. So later he gave it to me with the screws and a hub centric ring. I was confused when I saw it trying to figure out why he gave that to me. Then I realized that that was the reason that the wheels didn't mount properly. I thought that it had to do with the lug nuts originally. But the ring had been on the brake rotor for so long before that they were all rusted and basically seized on the rotor. It looked like it was part of the rotor itself when I put the tires on. Since I had two different model Del Sol's I figured that they were just different.

After a bunch of banging and prying and breaking a screwdriver (it's no longer an 8 inch its a 4 inch) I got all of them off:

Put everything back together and drove it GENTLY up the street. Here it is on the road again.

Still has battle scars

And this is a picture to show how low the oil pan currently is. I have a skid plate that I pulled off another car that I'm parting out. I might see if that will bolt on to this.

Then I washed it. But I don't have any pictures of that. I'm currently looking for another fender for it. I noticed that my tach isn't working. I'm throwing distributor codes. I have a new one that I will put on it to see if that solves the issue.

AND some A**hole called code enforcement so I have to play musical cars this week so that I don't get a fine. So I might take the Del Sol to my other garage or clear up enough space at home to put it in there. And just to piss whoever did report me I have brought in 3 more cars this week and parked them in my driveway. I plan on going to the code enforcement office and finding out who the person that reported me is since its public information. Then knock on their door and tell them that if they had a problem they could have come to me like a grown man and said something. I would have moved a car or shell. IJS

I still have to adjust the struts. They were seized and I am too tired to deal with them right now. I just need the car rolling. I also noticed that I need new ball joints. So I will probably redo the entire front end with new ball joints, bushings and coilovers all at the same time that way I know everything is 100%

i've only read the last page of this build thread and holy hell. i can say for sure i would totally call code enforcement. then i started thinking, i live in a condo, but if this is in your driveway of your unattached home then it's fucked up that people are bothering you. like all you want to do is ball joints. crazy man.

Good progress, I'd like a nice bone stock red Del Sol, but I have no where to put it. Shit would just get stolen.
