love the idea of a lathe, but if i may suggest something.
instead of a wheel barrow wheel, mount a wooden center with drilled holes so that the wheel would be secure. when i used to polish my style 5's it was a PIA cause i really needed to press hard with the sand paper every now and then. but if it works for you, awesome

Thnx for the tip, but it works for me. The wheel is somehow pulled down into the wheel barrow wheel by it self. I don't know how, but I pushed it up once and it pulled itself back down.
You sure have to press hard sometimes with the sanding paper to get all the corrosion out. That's for sure. And it works like a charm.

Got my nuts and bolts back. I had them de-rusted and zinc coated to rust proof them. They're coated and passified so in theorie they will be rust proof for 1000 hours in a salt bath. Will do for me, they will never be in a salt bath.
Now I have to make the heads shine and they'll be good to go.

from the shots of the test fit, fronts look perfect and with a 15-20mm spacing in the rear it should look baller

keep up the work

I'm going as fast as I can. I'm waiting for some stuff to seal the barrels so I can put them back together.
Also, I won't have the coilovers before the end of this month, so they definatly won't be mounted before that time.

So I did some pre-work today. I don't want my tires to be eaten by the sharp edges in my wheelwells so I put them inwards with a hammer. And up, don't really know how to explain.
As the wheels are wider and the car is going lower, this had to be done.

So, remove the inner thing and tap away with a little hammer. Offcourse heat the paint up with a heatgun so the paint won't crack. No more sharp edges that will destroy my tires.

The pictures might be a little unclear, but here you go...

OEM:

The edge I want gone:

tap away:

Aaaaaaaaaand gone:

Also tuned the inner plastic things a little so I'm not going to rub. I **** rubbing...

Next up, rear...

Finally finished the wheels

I ordered a set of BBS logo's. The real deal cause I just don't like the imitation things.
It didn't feel totally right to cut them up straight from the box, but I had to make them fit. So here it is.

In the center of the wheel

End the final result...
