Hey everyone. Been lurking for a while but finally got around to making a build thread. Let's hope I remember to update it when things happen.
Anyway, my project/baby/money-pit thing is a 1985 Volkswagen Golf with a VR6 motor swap. The VR6 is from a 1996 VW Passat. I picked up the car with the swap, however, it was not smog legal. The plan was to get the car smog legal and daily it.
Here is the car on January 25, 2015 when I got her.
I put some Borbet reps on it a month later. I ended up blowing the headgasket soon after too
Put some Rotas on it at one point. I kinda miss these wheels.
Some shots of the rebuild work that was needed after the headgasket blew.
Anyways, I'm tired of typing and have some homework to do. Here is the car today. She is smogged and running amazingly. I daily'd her for a semester at school and saved up some money to buy a Subaru Legacy to daily while the Golf gets to sit and the garage and get worked on. Nothing major planned for her yet. I want to clean up all of the wiring inside and out of the car as well as some minor things. I will post more updates here as I make progress.
Recently installed a rear euro bumper because I got it for dirt cheap
I still have the original Westmoreland front end. I was in a small fender bender and the gront grill and radiator support were bent. I have straightened them out and will eventually swap them back in.
