    Like others have mentioned for best results shoot with a prime lens or a telephoto lens. Issue with cars is they are somewhat large so when you start shooting at sub f2.8 you run into the possibility of cutting some of the car out of "sharp" focus like @Dane mentioned. Practice always makes perfect. I wouldn't run out and spend a ton of money on lenses or equipment until you get basics down and outgrow your current equipment. Here are a few examples of my old Minolta 50mm f1.7 on my Sony A7!
