Also looks like your first posts now have to be made in the intro section since that's where they seemed to be too. Fingers crossed
    Nope
Almost back to where we started.
Showroom, Builds, Other, and Intro are the main spam topics again...

Need to get onto the Admins.

I deleted 60 threads today. Fucking 60... I don't actually think the admins care or take on suggestions. More mods help, but that isn't fixing the problem, just hiding it.

I don't think anyone really moderates this forum unfortunately anymore. I've been lurking since 2012 and finally made an account recently and it's steadily gotten worse. Referring to the Spam that is.

I mod every week day, multiple times a day [I spend my whole day with/on the computer at work, so flick back to Stanceworks often. CNC programmer and operator].

I was told that I wouldn't believe how much spam this site gets, and I still don't!

I just deleted 18 spam posts right now since my visit at 9:20am, ~3 hours ago.

I can't believe that people put so much effort into making a single account to post one damned post of spam! Even if it is bots at work why not make them throw 10, 20 or 30 spam post up? Maybe the hope of staying 'under the radar'?

All the deleted spam post are still visible to mods... The builds page alone has 21 posts [one sticky], out of that, 7 spam post and 14 legit threads. That is this site's busiest page, there are pages elsewhere which are entirely spam.

Wheels and brakes page - 16 spam threads out of 20 on the first page
The Showroom - 11 spam threads out of 20 on the first page
Intro - 18 spam threads out of 20
Off Topic - 19 spam threads out of 20...

They're some of the busiest categories. So when you say you don't think anyone mods this site anymore, you have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. It just could be better from a site design and regulations point of view but that isn't happening.

zoo and I are on the ball for deleting the crap but there are other mods there doing it too.

Maybe a moderator strike would change things?

There are a few people that delete threads.
I'm against a strike, it would just get out of hand completely. I like this forum, a lot.

Isn't there a possibility that every newly created thread here needs a mod-approval? That would make sense to me....

there are plenty of us on here on a daily basis

1 mod down now... well during work hours that is.
Ass holes blocked Stanceworks at work under "blogs". Can't seem to get around it (Zscaler internet security). Guess I'll be trying to figure out how to run a internet connection via my phone to avoid all the work firewalls or something...

The help is much appreciated. But I don't think more mods is going to solve the problem. The problem lies with the registering system. That's something the administrators have to solve. But from what it looks like right now, they don't care too much...

Agreed. Zoo is a absolute machine at deleting spam and has been for the entire time I've know Stanceworks. If there was a mod top 10, he'd be in it. The issue is with sign up and with first post location I think. While first post wouldn't solve it, it would concentrate it to one area rather than the whole forum.

Good work Zoo! I cleaned up and IP blocked most of the spammers from the last few weeks. Looking into adding a simple text verification into the registration process to take care of the bots.

Thank you, the verification would be great improvement.

The super bowl isn't that good...
Cleaned up ~370 threads just today. 90% of them seem to be super bowl spam.

Been working around the factory a bit lately so been off the forums.

The Spam is getting really bad again.

Dear SW staff - it's very sad to see this forum dying like this. There are enough people who would be up to help! Please, do something about this.

It's not getting better at all.

Seriously, locate the first 1~3 posts you have to make to the intro section. At least that would cut the spread of spam down to one location and for the odd mass spammer account, there will only be a few over the rest of the site.

just deleted 3 full pages of spams today. from just 4 accounts....

This is a thing mods can't fix. Admins need to fix this. I'm kinda done here. Period.

Make it so that new users need to be approved by a moderator maybe? I dont know of ANY forums with as much spam as this one, it is offputting to say the least

For the love of fucking Christ, lads. Sort this out.

I know the mods are doing all they can, which is great, but if the site needs changed or updated, then I think that needs to happen fairly imminently to actually keep it's users on the site.
