  • 1988 BMW 735il - Nice Running Project

Again, its my 1988 735il. The stance has already been started. Needs a nice set of wheels to set it off
I removed the old LAD suspension and installed the LAD Elimination Kit from Bavauto.com
H&R lowering Springs and Eibach Sport shocks.
The braking system has been upgraded with Brembo x-drilled front rotors and ATE slotted rear rotors w/ PGR Ceramic Pads.
The cooling system (except for the fan clutch was replaced in 08/07, transmission rebuilt 02/08.
The engine is SOLID! I've driven the car as far as Boston, MA.

Now for the bad (project part)
    Drivers seat cable stretched
    needs tires
Torque converter just started leaking. (No, it wasnt replaced when tranny was rebuilt) approximately $400 fix
    A good detail wouldnt hurt.
Paint is original, but will still shine
Its formerly a garage kept LongIsland, NY car so a couple of dents from the NY City streets.

I spent my time working on the car mechanically and havent gotten to the cosmetic side. Wifey is complaining about it now that I'm not driving it. The car is still driveable but trans fluid will leak bad when stopped (hence, the reason I dont actually drive it) The 1st $1200 can get it. I reduced it from $1800 to allow for the repairs needed.
    Pix are below:
    in her heyday

I've since given the wheels to my mother for her E39

Here it is when it was rocking the M-sport wheels:

Current condition (I plan to clean it up some this week)

    progress IS a slow process
