  • Ball seat wobble bolts?

Well i decided to run a VAG wheels on my non VAG car...

Wouldn't be that much of a problem, but i can't use adpters...
Which brings me to the other option i got.

Wobble bolts, would work with both pcds (5x112 , 5x110)
and boltholes (VAG M14, GM M12).
But as some of you may know, they only come in regular 60° cone seat...
And VAG decided it would be cool to have ball seat bolts.., who knows why...

I digged around in the web a bit but could only find a washer
from cone to a ball seat.
Not a fan of that.., as i'm pushing my luck already...

Am i to stupid to find the ball seat wobble bolts, or do they simply not exist.

A few options i thought about:

Have the ball part of the bolt custom made.
Would this work, i'm really unfamiliar with VAG rims...

Have the bolt seats drilled out and insert a cone style insert like some oem rims have.
    Someone ever tried this?

Have them redrilled and insert to 5x110.
Not really an option, because germany...

    Thanks for looking.

I do not think they exist. Ball seat does not allow as much movement as cone.

buy a cutter to turn ball seat to cone seat. you know, like a countersink.

Yeah, I think the whole point of the cone seat is to allow the bolt to wobble correctly. A ball seat wobble bolt seems like it'd be a lot less predictable/safe. I would try to find a rubber/silicone washer somewhere that will allow you to run cones. It shouldn't be ridiculously expensive to get these made either.

            Get the bolt pattern changed.

I thought that too, but i found them...

              Ball seat wooble bolts

But they only come in M14.., so they are out...

I may ad that there are wobble nuts available...

Could be possible, but there isn't enough material to cut away, also then there is
less material that the bolt "can hold onto"...
And it lowers the resale value...

Rubber/silicone washers wouldn't do anything as they would crush when the bolt is
              torqued down...

For me, as i'm from germany, this is the very last option...
Cops and tüv engeeniers to be fooled, and a redrill is kinda visible...

              I'll do it this way:

Drill out ball seat, keep 5x112 pcd, then use inserts to 60° cone seat.

This way i mostly keep the resale value, not very visible and it's safe, as many
oe rims use this style of inserts...

              Thanks for the help guys!

Had you considered ball to cone seat washers?
Ball Seat Conversion Washers are specifically designed for wheel applications that require a Ball Seat, so you can use Cone Seat (Tapered Seat) Wheel Nuts/Bolts! Finding good Ball Seal Nuts/Bolts is impossible, so you simply use Cone Seat nuts with these!

I have, but i'm not a fan of them..

Because the movable cone that allows the movment is just a washer.
And adding a washer to a washer is not the thing i would do on a bolt that
holds a wheel to the car.

To bring this up again, SSC will make pretty much every bolt you can imagine...
