  • Couple of 124

    Hi all

First of all i will give u all my apologies for my english, i usually speak french.
    I'll do my best.
My name's John and i live in Belgium.
I m a big fan of slammed car in good realisation with great wheels and clean look.
    For a couple of weeks, i bought a C124 from 1993 with a 320 engine.
Thats a really fu****g nice car to drive it, but my country's not the USA about the fuel price and the car looks really expansive with the Fuel consuption.
So i decided to get an other car, but which one?
    After some research, i find a S124 from 1995 with a 300D engine.
Less powered but the same driving pleasure.
My project is to stock the coupe for some times and use the estate as a daily driver.
In the near future, the estate will get lowered and put on some great rims.
About the lowering method for this model, im looking everywhere i can.
I find the yellow speed racing coilovers kit which is really fit for the 124, i prefer this rather than modify an e36 kit.
But what i don't find how to do is to neutralize the hydrolic loading system that exists on the estate.
So, if u have some informations about how to do it, it will be great for me to know how.
    Pics will follow.

      Hi

I've already checked the forum about the 124, that's the reason why i get an account on stanceworks.
But i didn't see anything about the hydrolic on the Shocks.
About the pics, i don't have my laptop for the moment. It will follow 😉

Mike Brewer's car show 'Wheeler Dealers' converted the SLS suspension of a W201 2.3 16v in the first season. Maybe you can look into that.
Otherwise you can check the w201 16v-guys, as they all came standard with SLS suspension in the rear.

Have a look at M Kube's build; he did an S124 on air (which likewise requires removal of the SLS system) and did a reasonable job documenting it. There are a couple others out there as well.

I do believe the job is fairly straightforward. Sedan rear LCAs, new rear shock absorbers, and figure out some way to block off the SLS lines.

                Thx for coment.
The wagon will be the first... And only for the moment because of tax rules in my country.
I have the coilovers from e36 for the front, i just order rear shocks from Saab 900 for the rear and i have lowered springs for all round.
Just need some times to make the mounting.
After that, it will be time to find the perfect set of rims.
                This is another story

I'm curious about the saab struts. From what I've read, you might be going to regret fitting them as they do not have the damping force that is required for a heavy car like an S124...

                    Dag neighbor

The reason why i choose the Saab shocks is because i already had the e36 coilovers kit.
So, for only 70.00€, i can try the mounting and slam my big mama.
For the questions of the weight, i'm not going to load the wagon. i choose this car for esthetic reason, i don't need a wagon in fact.
I will see and if the diving is not good, i will purchase a kit from YSR which is specially made for this car.
But first of all, i must find a solution to delete the loading correction system on the car.
I don't know how it's called in english, i'm telling about the hydrolic system which make the car upper when its loaded.
I'm looking for a solution which can neutralize the thing without totally deleting it from the car because automobile inspection.

                          Hi everyone
                          Somme News about the wagon.
The work goes forward but Im still waiting for somme order like airride, coilovers kit from YSR and items for my three pieces wheels.
However like I said it before I already had some thinks able to forward the work.
So I did the mounting with the front parts of e36 coilovers, just to see. I also put my shorter springs on which I cut two springs more.
                          Here is the result

Unfortunately, two springs less were too much and a fucking pot hole on the road murdered my engine oil pan.

So I did some welding job on it and put back my stock suspension on the car.
When the coilovers from YSR is here, the car will get back near the asphalt.
By the way, is someone here knows any infos about a DIY skidplate designed for the 124, infos are welcome
