    • After 3,5 year of owning the car from new, and 55k kms, my floormates were looking tired. Not bad for a daily.
I didnt like the options my dealership had to offer, so i searched online for something custom, and subtle. So, onto the pics as always.

            • Took the car on yet another roadtrip to central Greece

              Nov-1 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Then I did a mod i saw on Youtube from Obsessed garage. He gave me the idea, how to eliminate this thing that happens at gas stations

              So this is before

Now if it falls, it falls down. Not on my fender.

Now, I am sure some guy at a petrol station will open it, and leave it on the top of the car, that is why, i am always there, you know just in case.

Been looking for a short shifter for this car for quite a long time, however never pointed me in the right direction. Either nobody knew, or nobody cared I guess. However searching over at briskoda forum, i was almost sure i found one, and after talking with the company , they assured me it would fit, so i gave it a go. Even if it didnt the price was worth it for a shot.

Feels SO much better, the travel of the shifter, and the feedback from it. Amazing value for money mod in my opinion.

It would be rude not to give it a good wash

It worked great, but the blue theme, just didnt work for me anymore.

So, I could paint it black, or silver, or i could do something even harder. Make a copy out of scratch aluminum.

                      • Spent some time at the exhaust shop, removing my downpipe, and welding the exhaust temp sensor adapter, from Defi.

Out of focus pics for the win

                        DSC_0775 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Then i cut the radiator hose, drained the fluids, and inserted the adapter for the water temp sensor. Went for simple clamps, because they fitter better in situ compared to the heavu duty ones. Filled with G13 again, and Happy to report, no leaks.

                        DSC_0766 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Then it was matter of connecting the sensors with the Defi main unit under the steering wheel. The route through the firewall was known from the installation of the previous gauges, so again, removal of tray stuff

                        DSC_0797 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

My main goal was for the wiring to be visible, but oem+ fitment.

I think it came out great

And there they are, the water temp and exhaust gas temp readings on my 1.6 tdi, making 160hp at the dyno.

                        • Another thing that was on my list, was to upgrade all of the interior switche to the Q3 / A1 facelift model. I had been postponing this mode due to the fact that i would have to not only purchase them all from the dealership to begin with, but also, to change their colour afterwards to match the white new interior lighting theme. I didnt want to go for cheap ebay china replicas.

However, i thought that i could purchase them, and then just change the caps, and keep the electronic parts as spares. And i was right.

Photos are always better than talking so. . . .

                          Parts were bought

Some G13 to replace the one i spent for the water sensor.

                              • So, some more updates then.

First I tried an optic thing in the front of the car. I added a black part between the headlighs and the front grille. I tried it with some 3M black vinyl i had laying in the garage. It came out nicely, I think i might do it if i keep this bumper . . .

Now some other orders that were incoming . . .

I ordered a phone mount from OEMMOUNTS from UK. I normally **** phone mounts in the car, i think they are ugly and destroy the oem theme. however, this mount, at least for me, changes things.
