  • Slammed VW Polo 6N

    Hello there
My car adventure started a few years back with and old Skoda 100l. Then there was a Fiat 126 BIS - a strange creature that broke every couple of months. After that, I've bought something most reliable you can get for decent money - a VW Polo 6N (or Mk4 Polo as they call it in the UK). Here's a pic of what it looked like 2 years ago:

Then, due to the not-so-good history of the car it started picking rust very very quickly and I had to buy a new car. It was already modded a bit by the previous owner, who took care of the body, paint and (unfortunately) the engine. It was originally a 1.4l 8V engine and it was the most reliable one I've driven. But since the power wasn't good enough, my friend (previous owner) swapped it with a 1,6 engine (unfortunately it turned out to be pretty much crap). As far as the body is concerned, the bootlid was smoothened and there's only place for the plate (no badge or handle - it's opening from the inside now). He also welded the side indicators, which I like, and put on some brand new paint. He also put some Mk5 Polo semi-bucket seats which are way more comfortable than the ones I had in the white one (even though they were also semi-buckets).
When I bought the car, it was looking like that:

Yes, it's me with the hairy face :P
Then it was time for some blaaaaaaack rear lights I had in the white Polo:

I took the wheels I had in the white Polo as well, resprayed them totally black except for the dish and put on some coilovers:

Those pics are from this year's Polo Club Poland meet and the cat turned out to be the lowest one of its kind (and I drove it 500kms each way, what is quite a nightmare in Poland sometimes).

Then I got hold of these:

Finally there is something I can hear while driving :-)

One Sunday I visited a show called Big Event in my neighbourhood. The Polo turned out to be the third lowest car there and the funny thing is that since I've put on coilovers, I didn't adjust them at all :P At the event there was a guy in a BMW E46 who was deflating his tyres just to have the car sitting lower during the measurements :P That didn't help him at all - his arms were about 5-7 cm over the ground, whereas mine was 34mm at the front and 61mm at the rear. Got a few shots from the event:

And a few days later there was a small 3-hour photo shoot with my friend and his Polo. Here's a preview:

All shots done by our mate who specialises in automotive phptography. You can check his work at http://www.rajdowy.blogspot.com/
    More to come soon

    Some more rigshots

That's what the car was supposed to look like this season:

But then the plans changed a couple of times :P
Finally I got hold of these:

3-piece, forged Chevlon Racing (WRD) wheels. Don't ask me about the price - it was riddiculously low as for this set
When I put it together, it was just about time to go to the national VW Polo convention The car has been voted the best car of this year's convention for the second time (previously in the hands of my friend). And on the day I set off, something like that was going on:

The car fell off the jack at first (luckilly wheels were still on). Then the wheel wrench gave up and I had to buy a new one (I couldn't remove the last steel wheel). Finally I gotit off and I could slam the car to the only right height :P Unfortunately I needed to lift it twice as the tire scratched the arch on one side

Just a quick shot from my calculator :P:

A few more from my friends:

And a pic of the trophees from this year's convention:

After all that, I went on another shoot and this is what came out:
And here we go with the rest of the pics:

Then there was another meet called DynoVWka:

That's all for now, more updates to come soon
    Out of the plans:
    - Need bags
    - In the winter there's a 1.8l 16V engine going in, predicted power is to double the current one :P About 140HP
    - The interior needs a new trim - current seats are gonna stay but the finish is gonna be in black leather and alcantara.
Seems to be all for now, let me know what you think
