Thread: My landyatch - e38 740iL

Built my booth today. 99% done just gotta place the filters and fans. As for color I'm gonna keep it black. I think it looks the best on these Cars and it matches the black trims if they were painted to match I'd change the color

Hoping to start spraying next week!

Damn this baby needs a paint job.

wheels and fitment look absolutely stunning.

Already have a color in mind? Mojave/ Havana (F30) would be perfect imho

    keep up the good work

clean build man, looking forward to more progress. Did you ever decide on what color to paint it, or is it a secret.

I did consider a similar brown, in particular the new merc s class brown but all the trims on the e38 are black. I personally don't like the look of black rub strips on a different colour car. It would be way too time consuming to paint those without damaging the chrome part. Can't go wrong withe black anyway

Thanks everyone for the kind words! Hoping to buy my paint Tuesday and start spraying on weds!

Don't know how i missed that lol!

A pearl gun metal or a jet black would be sick. Nice progress on the booth.

a little bit of me dies every time a e38 build pops. I really want one, but its stupid hard to find one that isn't armored here.

^ i kinda wouldn't mind an armoured one lol don't they come with certain features the others didn't? although I'm pretty sure you can't roll the windows down....that could be annoying lol

started painting today, layed two coats of base. First time using a paint gun so got a few runs ---_---
all good though, sanding them down tomorrow morning and it'll be like they were never there in the first place!
will hopeful clear it too before i have to go to work but well see.
its coming along though and she's looking pretty again

You didn't remove the door handles or mirrors to paint it?

You should do a thread on how you sprayed it. I'd be really interested to read it, it's also cool that you've done it yourself. Looks perfect on those wheels.
