  • My wife thinks its stupid, e36 and stuff...

hey everyone been lurking for a bit and don't really comment on much, but i figured id start a build thread for my recent idiotic purchase. long story short i used to be a mechanic but kinda got sick of it and now im an RN. one of the reasons i wanted to be an RN is to have the time and money to build a few cars, but ironically have not had a garage or any kind of a place to do so since,. still don't, and now that im in SF i don't think i ever will. so anyways after a three year wait i finally found myself in a position to pick up something fun. after moving from VA Beach to Denver to SF and trying to sell my landcruiser for over a year and half, i kinda lost my patience and picked up a gigantic piece of crap M3 and this is where it begins...
    sold this piece of crap

and picked up a different but equally piece of crapish this
    IMG_1687
had to have it in black!
it does have bill cosby sweater seats as a plus, which may be for sale soon but i haven't decided

this thing has all the typical e36 faults with it and im really taking my time sorting them out. so far i did the lights with a megiaurs headlight kit, worked really well
    nasty

    both done

after i did the head lights i got the hood to fully close no pics of that of that but you may be able to notice it on the last pic, the right wouldn't latch.
i also have started the door cards which look like poop and sound like a box of rocks when closing the door

              thanks guys!

the plans for it are to fix all the little shit and then get on to the good stuff, more than likely BWS and some M systems.
heres a list of shit to fix, its fairly long and kinda boring but whatever
              door cards
              windshield washers not working
              OBC backlight
              glovebox rebuild
              asc light is on
              airbag light
              sided skirt needs remounted
              and missing a jack cover
              front bumper needs adjusted
              needs new radiator clips
              the exhaust is hanging low?
              fog lights
              no outside temp sensor
              brake duct missing
spare tire hold down missing(rediculously annoying!)
              interior lights not coming on
              shifter feels off
              maybe engine/trans mounts?
new tires( fun to slide around now tho!!!)
alignment is way the fuck off
              missing engine cover caps

im sure this list will be longer

You're a douche for even thinking about selling the interior... Please, don't be a douche.

Well it's too late to not be a douche according to your rules of douchery.

If they're ever for sale ill be sure to

I've worked on hundreds of BMWs and never seen this interior and now that I have one for myself I'm all whatever... Haha. I actually don't think they're all that cool strangely.

Also got some new tires and an alignment
205 /40 and 215/40 rears. Nexus 5000s. Cheap and available. They make the front end feel noticeably more vague. Got them in anticipation of new rims in the future which sounds kinda retarded but whatever.

Those seats are the good shit. I hope you got a screaming deal on the car though after seeing that laundry list of problems.

The exhaust is just ahead of the game! Looking forward to seeing the progress, and this M3 turned back into a gem!
