I can go register and turn in plates without a problem. I drive right by the DMV in the work truck at least once a week, so it's really not that much of a hassle or a waste of my time. For $250, I don't mind taking an hour of my time a year.

LOL It only saves me about 30 bucks a month.
I only take my 240 off the road for beginning of DEC to end of MAR.
I live 5 minutes away from a DMV and they charge 30 bucks or so IIRC to get your plates back.
It usually takes at least 15 min to drop off plates and 45 minutes to get my plates back.
Fuck that noise.
