Uiteindelijk al deze versleten hufters moeten vervangen door een andere staalsoort van de nokkenas:




Leukste gedeelte is nog de prijs. €34,75 per stuk. PER STUK ja. En ik had er twaalf nodig. Dus reken maar uit....



Bonus is wel dat ze voor extra lift zorgen. Wits is nais ofkoers

I thinks it is about ime that I'll update this thread with some of the progress I made (well, sort of..) the last couple of weeks.

First, I shall start with that I am a complete moron. Because after installing the new rocker arm assemblies onto the new camshaft, I forgot that I turned the crank a little bit.
Result: See picture below. When you see it.....













So new task: CYLINDERHEAD OVERHAUL.

Some cleaning with a soft wire brush:


Then cleaning all the ports and canals which resulted in this






Removed the old headgasket



Next step: Cleaning the valves




Now everything is nice and clean



Then the new parts came in! new valve, gaskets, clutch pressure plate and other small bits ´n pieces...

Now I have ´cleaned´ the valves. But as you can see on the previous pictures, I didn´t touch the valve seats yet.
So without touching the valve seats, I did a vacuüm/leak test. Used an old vacuüm hand pump and a rubber hose with a rubber sealing plate attached. Worked like a charm

In the video in the above link you can see the pressure dropping relatively fast. That's not supposed to happen.


Test results with untouched valves and without lapping: (Note that 1.00 bar is absolute vacuum. The old handpump that I used, only went up to max 0,90 bar due to internal leaks)

I seems like I've got some work to do...











So I did.







Used two types of grid of sanding paste, lapped like a mad man. Had some improvement, but still not enough to my liking.
I put one of the rubber suction cups on an old sparkplug and used the power drill and some heavy metal polish to get those valve seats as flush as possible.


RESULTS OF ALL THAT EFFORT:

INTAKE VALVES:

All with barely any, up to ZERO pressure drop. And then consider that the gauge on the pressure meter doesnt go further than 0,90 bar...

oei, ik vind het wel spannend slijpen met de boormachine.
je hebt toch niet teveel weg geslepen he?!
hoe groot is het slijp vlak in de zitting?

Maar heel zachtjes hoor Thomas. Bijna gewoon aaien kan je het noemen hahaha

Grootte van het vlak weet ik niet precies, maar deze is nagenoeg hetzelfde. Het is alleen jammer dat je door het lappen een hele lichte groef-vorming krijgt in het vlak. Dus daar moet je wel voor oppassen dat je niet te ver gaat.

ooh dan komt het wel goed.
las natuurlijk net pas dat je dat alleen met het polijst compound gedaan hebt :P
zo on the top my mind was een mooi slijpvlak 1mm ofzo. maar daar zijn wel waardes voor te vinden.

wat eventueel ook mooi is is een 3way valve job, kost wel een paar cent maar is wel wat vermogen mee te behalen. wel leuk om even op in te lezen

ja klep en zitting slijpen kost gemiddeld zo'n 10,- per stuk bij een revisiebedrijf. Dan nog een extra 4 euro/klep voor het inslijpen/lappen, Dan nog de kop schoon afdraaien, ben je alweer gauw 200 euries verder... Gelukkig heb ik een 12-klepper hahaha
