That is some M103 P O R N dude. Please take that dumb badge off though. As some one who refinished an m103 I can say this is an awesome job. The small things like that new harness guide and the head-to-thermostat housing hose make all the difference.

haha Evan, that badge was put there for shits and giggles by my brother in law who I share the workshop with. He's a genuine BMW guy. But also appreciates Benzes and Murrca V8 stuff (he owns the red C4 Vette).
But actually the thermostat housing and harness guide are still the stock originals. I just cleaned Every. Single. Fucking. Part. that I came across while reassembling the engine and rest of the car.
Of course lots of parts were missing. But having 3 other W124's parted out in the past four years, causes one to have many many spare parts haha
Also I replaced as many bolts and clamps for brand new stainless steel versions, and cleaned and repainted brackets and the intake (black) for a cleaner look. I'll post the older pictures soon.

Recap of the past year (and probably long before that lol)

Most of you know me by the name of Doug.



Because the main reasons that I did not post a lot of progress was because of the following:

I bought THIS...

(2002 W209 CLK 500 with AMG package - Daily driver)

... that I transformed into this;



Next to that, I also got myself into this....

(1986 W124 260E manual - nothing)


...which I really wanted because of this;



And that eventually turned into this;


And this...


And currently into this;




I also upgraded the workshop A LOT which took like... forever

What it used to be like:


Getting our 'storage platform'



Pouring concrete foundations



Cutting away the old work bench


Setting up the frame work

Put back the work bench


Painted all the frame work including bench



Rebuilding the ladder




Painted the floor with some oil resistant garage paint, put the stairs and the wooden floor supporting beams into place

Placed some steel cabinets that I got for free when my employer moved to another office




I also got myself something I wanted for a really loooooong time:

A tire balancer and a tire mounting machine

So I went on with tidying up the engine bay. Getting rid of all the ugly thick layers of seam sealer, unused plugs, tabs and holes.


Welding holes shut, sanding and primer, and sanding and sanding and sanding...

Sanded the whole bay with scotchbrite and started masking off before applying the epoxy primer


2K spray can FTW



After that we fully wetsanded the engine bay and went on with the .172 Antracite Grey


2K clear on top of that....

Then finally I could apply the RUSSIAN Military spec sound and heat insulation that I had laying around for nearly 3 years..
