  • 12 to 14mm drilling ?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out and answered my own question.

I have a set of Merc wheels that are 5x112 using 12mm lugs and I plan on putting them on my Passat that uses 5x112 14mm lugs. I'm good friends with a machinist so I had talked to him about having the holes drilled on the Merc wheels to be 14mm in diameter.

Q: Having them drilled wouldnt have any affect on the bolt pattern, right?

A: Correct, bolt pattern will not be affected because the centers of the lug holes are never changed. See diagram

You are correct, and BTW just use a 5/8ths bit to open the hole up to a little larger than 15mm to fit the 14mm shank diameter bolt in. You can do this easily with a good bit on a press, it cuts through like butter, I did it for my tracers.
