    • Was going to skimp the flywheel and stick with stock until I got around to a 5-speed swap but I couldn't pass up this Aasco aluminum flywheel that popped up for sale. Just waiting on a new pilot bearing then I can button everything up and drop the engine/trans in for good.

            • Amazing work on the rust repair! I'm still scratching my head at how you recreated that rear inner wheel tub & strut mount....

The floors weren't too bad of a job, the fun part is once you start cuting out the bad metal only to find more and more and more and more lol

I didnt fab those, bought them off someone who cut up a parts car, measured them up, trimed and welded them in.

Small update - was able to get the flywheel/clutch in and trans bolted back on. plan on dropping everything back in tomorrow.

And if you happen to have a needle bearing for a pilot, dont bother using a rental pilot bearing puller from Advance auto, it wont work. Ended up doing the wet paper towel trick after the puller destroyed the bearing.

                  • Made some a bracket and mounted my new seat realized when sitting in the car my head is maybe inch away from hitting the rool/sunroof tray, so I cut the 2" mounts out, going to replace them with 1.25" and see how that works out.

Then I went to bolt in my pedal box, guess what. It didn't match up tp my original replacement panel. So I cut that out too.

After 3 panels I just wasn't happy with I finally remembered how to make things and got a very nice fitting panel.

I also bought a second heater box hopefully that I can save, has a lot of stress cracks that need to be addressed and possibly reinforced, but it did come with a working fan so thats a bonus.
