  • Another day, another daily (6N)

    Good morning, me again.

With my main build coming off the road soon for some major work, it became apparent i needed a new daily. A static one this time.

Just look at it, what a beautiful creation.

All for just £450 of my finest british pounds. And for that, i get:

    3 Doors
    A boot
    A sunroof, manual of course
    No cup holders
    1 working electric window
    60 entire brake horse powers
    A keen handbrake

Basically rust free shell, it's been owned by 1 old lady for 90% of it's life, then by a young lad for his first 2 years of driving. With 77.5k on the clocks, it's stupidly clean. Got the odd ding and scrape here, but you'd expect that on a 20 year old Polo.

Had coilovers before i owned it, so i'm chucking them on tonight. MOT is on Thursday, so i'll be notching it after that. Quite simple plans for it, getting it super clean, and then owning the lowest static car i've ever owned. This is going to be a great car.

Won't need to worry about that, if you've seen Hayden or Josh's Lupo's, it's going to be on that level hahaha

So, coils went on last night.

No where near low enough yet, i've not taken the ARB out yet so that's not helping, drivers side also needs a notch, and i also need a different set of front coilovers as they're not threaded enough. I've found a set with 40mm more thread on them, which is exactly what i need to close the gap up. The rear i'll sort in time, as you can see i need a lot of camber and a bit of the old yellow pages to pull the arch out a bit.

It currently sits like this, i need it about here:

I'll crack on with it again on friday and over the weekend, should be able to get it sat much better.

                      Hello again all.

So, i got around the front lows, turns out my KW coilovers off my old 6N2 fit, so i put them on. It now sits like this.

Nice. Now i just need rock hard springs.

Also going to notch it next week, as the drivers side shaft is touching. Easy work

Fitted the front springs tuesday, these are the 15KG/MM springs, good results.

This is how it sits with the coil wound all the way down. As the spring is now taller and stiffer, it's raised the car by 10mm. No issue, i've ordered drop mounts to allow me to get the front back down to where it was.

10mm is literally all it needs.

Rears are going on tomorrow, need to modify the shock slightly so the bump stops can be removed, then it's just a case of camber and tracking.... for now lol
