Reputable wheel builder in CA I am using, (well their machinist they use) is having issues drilling out some bent and sheared studs from the back of my ryugi faces. Say they keep snapping carbide bit on a CNC machine.
Sounds like the bit is going off center, being a CNC it is extremely rigid, and being carbine-very brittle.
Anyone else have this issue?
I suggested they use a flat face end mill to spot face the area down enough (1/4-1/2 mm should be enough) to where the stud face is planar to the wheel mount face. Then just pilot and run the appropriate drill through it to go from m7 to m8.
Any other suggestions?
