  • Mk6 Jetta Daily Driver Build

Hows it going everyone. I used to on the forum a few years ago but life got the best of me so i had to take a break. I used to have a volvo s70, over the course of 6 years i did alot of work to it and I was finally getting to the point where i was satisfied and reading to take things to the next level. Unfortunately all that ended one day when i hit a cinderblock randomly sitting in the middle of the road. Did some pretty extensive damage that would have ended up costing way to much and taking way to much time so i stripped the volvo and sent it the scrap yard.

After that i decided i was going to leave cars alone for a while. i picked up a 2014 jetta se 1.8t with about 20k miles on it. Told myself i wasnt going to mod it or anything and i stuck to it for about a year but you know how that goes. So far it had some coilovers, and a intake. Ive got a few other parts sitting around to be install, but since its my daily im going to try and keep the build pretty mild for now.

So here we have a bone stock Jetta. i was so dedicated to not modifying it that i barely even bothered to wash it.

Somewhere along the line i decided that a little more sound wouldnt hurt much. So i took it down to the shop to have the resonator and muffler chopped off. Alot of people said it would be pretty loud but compared to the straight piped volvo it was barely noticeable to me.

Next up was an integrated engineering intake, and some forge superlow coilovers. Im going to try not to run over any more shit in the road this time around.

After that I picked up a front lip, it looks a little rough around the edges but the fitment looks pretty spot on. I extended some side splitters for a brz that i had planned on using for my volvo but i didnt get a chance to. After a test fit it looks like i wont have to adjust the length to much to get them to fit.

I extended the side splitters with expandable foam and cut it down to shape. than i fiberglassed over it and smoothed it out with bondo, all i need to do now it smooth it out some more and paint it.

Going to run some 3sdm 05s 18x8.5 and 18x9.5s. Dont mind the white paint im in the process of fully polishing them.

How are the forge coilovers? I didn't even realize they made their own coils

Forge coilovers ride amazing. Got everything dailed in. I'll probably raise it up a bit once I get my wheels fitted though.

Didn't really see any headlight options i like so i decided to give it a try building my own set.
Picked up some cheap headlights from ebay and baked em open. First up i decided to keep it simple. Painted it black and tossed in a quad projector set up.

Wasnt really feeling the way they tuned out. Figured i wanted some a bit more unique for the highbeams and a bit more color.
So next came the profile led high beam projectors.

Going to be fun getting these aimed

So back to polishing the wheels. 3 down only one more to go. i plan to be done by wednesday as long as i dont slack off. Anyones whoes ever polished metal before knows how long of a process it is.

First i had to alternate between the paint stripper and a wirewheel on a drill. thankfully it didnt take to much work to get all the paint off.

After that i wet sanded them from 60 grit to 2500 grit, and polished them up with some mothers metal polish. They came out pretty good for a rush job. I might go over them again but them look good enough for now, and i also plan on painting the barrels black.

Still undecided between chrome or neochrome lugs though

Nice job on refinishing those 3SDMs, if you painted the windows? (the inside triangle bit lol) the same grey as the car it would look sweet, especially with the rest of the wheel being polished like you have it.

Can't wait to see em mounted up!

Thanks! I was thinking about just repainting them black or a really metallic silver first, but now after putting my fingers through hell and back the polish is going to stay for a while

225/40 all the way around and the fitment is perfect. The front needs to come down for sure after I roll the fenders but I think the rear is spot on for now.

Weather was nice today so I decided to knock out the install install. Pretty simple and straight forward. Don't think it did anything performance wise but it makes alot of cool noises so no complaints
