Hey guys, I picked up a set of OEM wheels for winter at a fair price. They have some curb rash and scratches, some of which are pretty deep. I'm spending a little bit of time stripping the clear, sanding down the damage and trying to restore them to their original finish.
I understand that clear coat won't stick well to a polished surface. The wheels originally had a semi-polished face and were clear coated from the factory. What grit of sandpaper would you recommend stopping at before having them clear coated? In the photos below, I've gone up to a 2000 grit and wet sanded. Thanks for your time.
