  • Simple Stance - 2001 VW Polo 16 Valver

What? He's not bought another incredibly mediocre Volkswagen hatchback has he?

Well yeah. I just don't learn.

This Polo however, they're very rare. It's a Polo 16v, one of 277 left on UK roads. As it was a step below the GTI, no one really bothered with them. Still good fun to drive however, packing 100bhp and not a lot of weight is good fun!

This is my one, a clean, well looked after low millage example, with 54k on the clock, 2 previous owners, and some seriously offensive arch gap.

    Disgraceful. Makes me sick.

Whoops, some KW ST coils fell onto it!

Needs more arch work before i put the rear splits on, but yeah, for now i love it. Hopefully in about a months time it'l be done!!

I love them, such a nice platform to work with! It is indeed the new daily! I need to raise it a tad, didn't realise how low the subframes are on these...

Yup, i can't help myself hahaha! Surely you could import a Lupo/Polo over your part of the world? My dad exported his last two Mini's over there!

Yeah likewise, hopefully i'll have chance this week!

            Untitled

First proper drive in the Polo yesterday, coilovers have completely transformed this little thing!! What an awesome car, just needs a slight raise due to the subframe hitting EVERYTHING over about 15mm tall!!

The issue is fairly clear. Oh well, this means i can now at least make a start of stripping and rebuilding them!

Nothing new to report yet annoyingly, i literally can't do anything until i get paid... Two weeks and i will have things to do!!! GTI splitter is awaiting a bit of sanding and paint, i'll jump on that this weekend
