thank you, i went with the mini, its a real nice height for street use and every day driving (not that this gets used, ever). i don't think i would want any higher even if you are on a track this will be perfect height

they arrived yesterday! i had a shitty time last night upon leaving the gym after work i go to get in my girlfriend's car turn the key, it is cranking but it wont fire. i managed to move it slightly by releasing the handbrake in hope it will roll and then fire up. nope. now i am sitting in the way of all cars trying to get in and out of the car park. fabulous.

unlike most girls who have little cars like a fiat 500 for example, my girlfriend wanted a Land Rover. all good and well until its just you, in shorts and a t shirt standing in around 1 degree c weather trying to push this fucking car on your own out the way. loads of people walking through and past but like fuck did they help or even offer. managed to push the car about 1,000 yards up a very slight hill to somewhere i can stop. after being freezing cold and what felt like every muscle in my body has just torn i am almost on the edge of having a break down (at this point its about 8pm). i get my dad to come home from work and gets to me around 11pm. turns up we and we are going to tow the car home. turn the key and the fucking bastard car fires up straight away.

been reading up online and it points to be potential a fuel injector issue. i don't know and i don't want to be dealing with it so going to have it taken to someone who specialises in Land Rovers.

when i did eventually get in i unwrapped the door cards and they look awesome. i will try and find time over the weekend to fit them.

so i actually done something this weekend,

the door cards turned up so i cleaned them up, pulled out the old clips and replaced with all brand new ones from BMW. i am missing one door handle surround on the drivers side but i will order one of them and fit it, god knows where my other one has gone but oh well.

here are some photos:

the rears are a little wet as they were dusty as hell so i cleaned them up with a damp cloth to get all off.

i then spent the rest of my day fighting with the fucking Land Rover, man i **** that thing.

and then i took the day off from my diet and treated myself to some good food.

yeah so basically i just fell out of love, after building it and never driving it due to little issues i decided to leave it for a while under a cover and see if the absence made me want to get back into the car. but that feeling never came around.

Work Equips are my all time favourite wheel and there wasnt another wheel i would want on this car. so i said to myself i will put the wheels up for sale for £x amount of money, if they sell then i will break the car for parts, if they don't sell then i will continue so i let fate decide the fate of the car.

put a half arsed add up on my instagram. within an hour someone sent me the full asking price of the wheels. so i guess that was that.

knowing that the USA dream trip was on the cards it made breaking this car down a lot easier, i got everything i wanted for each part and i made a nice lump sum back which went towards the USA trip.

This car was a massive learning curve for me as i have/had no prior mechanical experience or knowledge (my 9-5 is working in finance).

This car taught me everything i need to dive right into the e30 build of which i just got confirmation today that its on the damn boat heading to England!!!

I have a ton of notes and all the photos from my trip across america i need to write them up and update my thread about it. it was incredible and i am still upset that its all done and over with now but the memories that i have will stay with me forever (until i get dementia atleast).
