  • Euro'd Fiesta Mk6 Anniversary Red Edition on BBS RM

Hi there. well, here is my complete build thread of my car from start to how it stands today.
I’ve owned the car for over 2 years now and been gradually modifying bit by bit.

Right, this is when I bought the car back in 2010. Its a Ford Fiesta MK6 30th Anniversary Red Edition. Its completely standard.

So the look I wanted to go for is the Euro scene!
I’ll let the photos do most of the talking. Enjoy.

    Double Din

Next was new HID's 6000k. Followed shortly after white side lights and white fog bulbs.

    De-tango'd

    Private Plate

    Rear license plate bulbs

Sprayed the Grey plastics Gloss black. I left the front grill grey as I was hoping to get the license plate recess smoothed out.

few days later I decided to spray the fog rings red

Next was a few little modifications

DMB gel overlay badges front and rear and steering wheel.

Boot lock cover and de-badge the rear badges.

    Press plates

    Heko Wind deflectors

    AP Coilovers

Next following week. Went down to my mates house with the coilovers and got them fitted!
After 3 hours or so with no draw backs or any issues got them fitted.
Front Units still had 20mm of threads, rear had adjusters still in wounded all the way down.

ST Side skirts, 2nd hand but was in really good condition and was alot cheaper, was a bonus that it was in the same colorado red.. only bad point is that it was missing a jacking cover, but that could be easily sorted.

    Trial fit

After god knows how long.. But manage to find a nice set of wheels.
They are Genuine 15" BBS RM 011 6.5j wide all round

The next day took the wheels down to my mates to test fit them to see how they looked.

After a long debate we decided that we could make the back 8.5j and 7.5j wide. adding 2.5inch lips to the backs and 1.5 on the fronts.

Had a day to myself and started splitting the rims up and get ready for the new ones!

was pretty easy just heated round the joining face and on the lip and couple of steady bangs with a rubber mallet..POP! and done!

New wider Polished Stainless Lips from Germany.
    Front and back showing.

    Before

    Now

Found a set of original BBS RM centre caps through ebay.

Took the wheels to get them Powder Coated.
A week at the powder coaters and the results:

Now everything is done, all it needs now is bolting back up and resealed, and set of tyres to be stretched over them.

(2011) Edition 38 was approaching so decided to respray all plastics black including the front lower bumper grill as I never got round to smoothing.

    Off goes the plastics.

4 days later plastics back on.

A few photos with mine and my mates car.

And a few photos when we was on way back from Edition 38!

At this stage I was preparing for Ultimate Dub (2012) in March.

Basically just been cleaning them up using some of meguiars metal polish on the lips and bolts and using poorboys wheel sealant all over inside and outside barrel for maximum sealant and protection from brake dust, dirt etc. and fixing the centre caps.

2 weeks later it snowed.. start of February, shocking. Typical UK weather..
    anyways some snow pictures!

After the snow cleared off, a goood cleaning session from all the shi**y road grits etc.

    Snow Foam

    Washed etc. etc.

    Shortened Stubby Aerial

    Old washer Jets

    New Mist washer Jets

Hand polishing using Meguiars metal polish and sealing them using Poorboys wheel sealant.

    Before

    After

Car then went into bodyshop for some smoothing

    Week later...

Nankangs 165/50 & 185/45 for the BBS's and took them to get them stretched

    day later...

Play around with the coilovers as I still had 20mm left on the front and adjusters at the back, ended up wounded the fronts near enough all the way, back adjusters removed and we have =

So this was carrying on from when the wheels were on and suspension all adjusted. Just went driving with my mate, just to check for any signs of problems eg. air leaking from the stretched tyres, rubbing, etc. and all is fine even at 70-80 mph on these stretched tyres. Not too bad.

Centre caps aren't on as they are in a middle of some work so the photos of the wheels could look loads better when I have the centre caps on with them but hey? you get the idea.

Ut oH! we did find one problem, the rears poke out slightly too much, but thats what I wanted it to do, poke!. Anyways the tyres are still bit chunky its rubbing my rear arches, problem will be solved anyways with some camber as I originally intended to camber the rears.

Before this is how it sat..

As you can see the tread pattern is a few mm out from the arch.

Sorted that out with Camber using washers

    Cambered <3

in My eye's my perfect stance!

So day before UD, Which only means a big CLEANing session.

Nice calm sunny day.. perfect for washing.

    Bay Cleaned

    Washed, rinsed, sealed Etc.. etc.

    Little touches
    Lamin-x Yellow fogs

    Front windscreen stickers and Plate

    Rear Stickers

    Centre caps

    Repping the WW <3

    Ready for UD.

    Day of UD.

Ultimate Dub was a great day out and the show was awesome.

Stayed like this for a few weeks

Did some minor changes for the next show I was attending,
    • Headlamps split and sprayed black
    • New lower rubber splitter

    Recently attended Early Edition38 (2012)

Strong opinion on the black dude aha but yeah That was done over a year ago, if I had them a year and half ago today it would of stayed gold.

Needs a bit of camber and a bit more low on the front, and the stance is perfect.
And different wheels, but that's just me, **** BBS rs/rm.

i think this fiesta will look better without the stickers + black painted fog rings + little lower... otherwise it's simply perfect...

This is rad! But you should have left them gold. The black and silver combo has been done to death!

That's the aim right there! BBS's are classic show wheels, you've seen them soo many times at shows. thanks anyways

Ahhh thanks dude wheels definitely changes the whole look of the car, I only put the wheels on for shows and summer days, so it goes from standard wheels to these from time to time and it looks like a complete new car with the BBS's alot meaner!

                      Thanks

                            Thanks guys!

                            Mini update:*

Found some slight cloudy stains and a little sign of wear on my bbs lips which only means bad news, corrosion if I don't keep on top of it.*
                            Before:

After, using Meguires Metal Polish.... BOOM!

Love the stuff. Awesome for maintaining polished lips. Love mirror lips <3

And also been doing, seen as my ideas are coming up dry with the my car, and was happy with how it stands today, I've been busy fettling with my little brothers Lupo, my second project car but mine and my brothers little project. Lol i just LOVE fettling with cars! :P Here's the things I've done so far to it. Basically I do all the research/working out/fitting, my little brother just for funding and a mix of mine and his ideas put together. He does help with fitting actually, great for making brews and passing me tools Lol

                            De-badged

                            Side trim removed

                            8k Hid's*

                            Bright white Licence plate LEDs*

Then finished with stubby Aerial, pressed plates and flat aero blades,*

Then when my brother passed his test we immediately got AP coilovers on order on the day he passed aha when they arrived had the car to myself that day, so went out to fit them,*

                            Setted them up to this:

                            Fronts fitted:*

Air ride?! Lol 30 turns from the top, 55mm left on thread plus helpers still in and "slammed" is an understatement. Was a shock when the lupo sat that low with that set up. Still got 55mm and helpers in, this would be painfully low. Lol

I had to be careful when lowering the lupo as the drop links might have came in contact with the chassis, and to go that MEGA LOW like air ride low it would need a chassis notch. But how I settled it up as a estimated guess and was fine. Still can go lower are clear the chassis.

Did the back with the fat adjuster cups still in. Sat pretty low down now. Bouncy as hell. But we LOVE IT! Lol

Wheels: manage to find a set of These stunning wheels at a great price. We bought these like year and a half ago well before my brother even got his lupo lol we just know we had to get them as its was at a great price and was really rare to find a set in the UK.*

They are 14" Tramont TY2 3 piece split, only seen a set of these twice on a mk1 cabriolet golf at Edition38 2010 and one on a already lupo owned by Niall who built it into one awesome show winner Lupo and had a Fast Car feature and in performance VW. They are still very rare to find in the UK as prices for these are expensive as hell for a brand new set and are made to order from the French company that designed them.

here's Niall's Lupo featured in performance VW

Reason why they were soo cheap was because they wasnt in great condition needed re-polishing, had pitting damage, missing centre caps and badly baked on brake dust in the inside barrels... and 2 of the wheels needed straightening. After a few photo received It looked ok-ish and they wasn't all bad, I know they can be straightened but it's the case of finding the right guy to do so. Or if it comes to it we'll just have to order new lips and barrels from Tramont.*

Did some research and after finding a local company call waxonwaxoff, ltd in Grimsby, they specialise in metal polishing. Went to enquire and the guy, Mike the polisher is sound as hell. He knew what i was after and he's done polishing of rims for show cars before and sorted me out a good price, winning! So left the lips and faces with him And took the barrels amd 2 buckled lips to *CJ powder coating and painting, who mike suggested who can sort that out. Went to enquire, Yet again, another sound chap to deal with. Happy days!*
Would recommend these guys as they do reasonable good prices and services and they won't rip you off!!!

2 weeks later wheels back fully refurbed with a funky twist, something I had to convince my brother that it would look cool as hell as it's all attention to detail, plus Niall is already rolling the same style wheels and on a same car so had to make it slightly different.*

                            Result:*

The work carried out by Mike the polisher has done and awesome job, before it was, well, fucked, cloudy lips, pitting damage was awful, and wasn't at all show condition worthy!

Now I LOVE the finish, mirrored, barely noticable putting and colours are like BAM!. Definitely different to Niall's and these colours would go well with a white Lupo, you won't see the colours as its inside the barrel, but it's that attention to detail that counts. Winning! *

Now looking to trial fit, stretch rubbers, smoothing of front rears bumpers and interior is getting a complete job over. new seats, etc. watch this space. *

And recently attended Modified Live at Cadwell Park and entered a show and shine competition for Euro Scene.*

Anyways.. Didn't win lost to a red C2 on black scmidt modern lines 3 piece, that had been built by previous owner to an absolute show stopper.*

                            New show plates:*

After the modified live event, seeing that red C2 winning, looking awfully similar to mine as in colour theme and wheels etc, it's giving me the push to start funding my plans and ideas that I said I wasn't going to fund lol so watch this space. Aim is to get it done by DUBS Mania in June. Fingers crossed it should be enough time. planned it all out but can't expect everything to be easy!*

And off topic: have for sale on behalf on a friend:
