  • Inner barrel replacement measurements

Hey guy's first post here, and first time owning and rebuilding my set of 3 piece wheels

Might be a dumb questions but to sum everything up, i've ordered inner replacement barrels for my Rotiform TMB's from a company called "ThreePiece.us" they requested for me to ship them any of the one piece of wheel to them so they can get correct CNC measurement for bolt holes/spacing etc . After 2 months of waiting they finally came in and noticed a couple things different.

1st, Ive noticed the inner barrel mounting flange that mates to the outer lip is nowhere near flush, there's about a 1"in of surface area exposed which makes me think about the whole wheel not being concentric? Ive been seeing other wheel builds and most ive seen all look flush or near flush with the outer lip flange.

Is this fine? I maybe overthinking just need some input befote installing.

    Thanks!

    1) Not a dumb question.
    2) Do not use that inner. It is clearly not the correct size.
    3) There was no need to ship a face to them to size it up, Rotiform uses 40 hole standard US lips/barrels; off the shelf replacement type part. Not custom made. They should have known that.

Get your money back if you can, go with another vendor. Let me know if you need further help.

If the bore of the barrel fits tight with the face and the holes line up, it should be fine to use. I can see this happening if they custom cut a blank barrel.

Zoo is right though, Rotiform uses standard 40 hole parts... you should have received an exact fit.

Kyle, to me it looks like the barrel is 1" bigger than the lip.
I've cut blanks before, there is some difference in size but it is far less noticeable.
Example, all 4 barrels are were cut from us made blanks:

          Thank you for the reply!
I'll hold off for a bit since I haven't fully installed the barrel on, and will contact "Threepiece.us" to see what they will say about it. Since this place seems to be a fairly new shop they didn't have any ROTIFORM wheels to go by as reference in their system for measurement, so thats why they wanted me to ship them the rotiform barrel.

heres the pic of everything mounted up with a few bolts

correct the bore of the face and the outer barrel are lined up..I added a few pics up above for reference. the other main thing i was looking at was the size of the hardware holes that they cut out which are a bit bigger than the Original Rotiform barrel

OK, the new pictures bring in new info.
Those are double stepped lips/barrels. What is the diameter of the wheels? 18"?

Looks like ThreePiece.us took a blank single step barrel and cut it to fit. Not the proper way to do this.

glad the pics shed a little light for you, but the diameter is a 17"x7 inner barrel

I haven't yet sent them pics nor an email yet but from the sounds of it this is something that needs to be fixed..I was hoping it was going to lead to this since it took 2 months to receive these -___-

I may be wrong on the double step then. Still, odd they used an oversized blank.

they called me 2 weeks before they were shipping out telling me that they are a double step, do you know if this will still work properly when put together?

Would you happen to know a legitimate place that can make the exact Rotiform innner barrels? I have contacted rotiform and they no longer sell or make replacements which was a bummer.
