  • Yes, I VIP'd a Mitsubishi Galant.

I've had these VRG body parts for years, I was finally were able to get them painted and was all installed by mid week last week. It was just proper to do a photoshoot. Props to my homie who did the install (and my homie for taking the pictures), his friend who painted it, and me, of course for never settling for anything but my exact vision for this vehicle.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.

    Well,

It's got great potential... but it needs a drop BAD. Once it's low that'll look tits.

It is already lowered about 3 inches, lol. I need new suspension as it is though, and I'm not sure I'd like to spend $3500 on air suspension as of right now.

Not trying to be a tough crowd. It does have potential. But just needs quite a bit more before i would consider it VIP. Just keep it up!

Not a tough crowd. This is stanceworks, not "slightly lowered" works.

I'm just going to echo everyone else so far, this thing needs to be sitting on the wheel lips and hot damn, she's a beaut. (3-4" lower) ((Most of us have lowered our cars 6+ inches or so from stock height))

I also didn't know one NEEDED air to go lower.... They just came out with these things called coilovers!!!! It's a pretty revolutionary idea, but I think they would work in this context.

It does have great potential, but I agree, as a start it needs to be a lot lower before the VIP influence will "read." There are many, many VIP-style builds on coilovers, and plenty of them are extremely low. Air is nice, but it's not the only way to get amazing fitment. That kind of fit and finish is where you've got to concentrate if you want to fly the VIP flag.

I expected to hear "Moar Low", believe me, I want it to be more low. Believe it or not, these cars are VERY difficult to get another 2-3 inches lower, in FRONT even with air suspension, and most certainly with coilovers. Even if I removed the collars on the coilovers, and slammed it all the way, it still wouldn't be on sitting on the rim. Air Suspension is just about the only way I've ever seen these cars get much lower than I am now. The rear is easy to get lower and kiss the rim with the fender lip.

This is my car on 17s with BC Racing coilovers... which conveniently for you and me will be for sale as soon as I take them off. 2" from the ground at the front frame rail. About 3" at the rear because #fitment yo. Getting low with these cars isn't hard if you have the right equipment. Those are 19s right? I find it hard to believe that's a 3" drop with that much wheel gap. Smaller wheels will also get you lower but 17s or 18s are just right for this chassis. Springs don't always go as low as they say

The car is currently on a set of Megan Coilovers, perhaps BC allows for more adjustment.

I also have the extreme drop kit, which I believe is shorter springs. To get lower I could take out one of the locking collars also

Like I said, maybe they just have more adjustment than the Megans ever did. In which case, when I buy new suspension, that is something to consider. And I have to consider that my body parts are incredibly rare for our cars, and I'd like very much not to scrap them down the road everyday, which is why most people go air suspension anyways.

But thanks for the input, if you have done anything else to your Galant and would like to share, please feel free, I'd love to go 'moar low'.
