BBS RS bolts back to new

I removed the dirt from my bolts and since I'm about to polish them, I was thinking how to protect the bolts after? Should I just put a clear coat on them or is there any better way to prevent them from rusting?

A clear powdercoat would be ideal. Spray on clear can chip fairly easily. I've also heard that the clear powder won't dull up the polish as much, as I've looked into this myself as well.
