  • my POS hyundai

Here's my car. It's a 2012 Hyundai Veloster. Not much done to it but I'm super proud of it.

I'm maxed on NGM coilovers with all locking rings and spring perches removed. Can't go any lower without shorter struts and springs But I'm sitting on XXR 527s. 18x8.75et35 with Federal 595s in 215/35R18 all the way around. And I've got an "evo" front end thanks to plastidip and well as a Home Depot lip kit all the way around. Definitely a budget build but like I said before, I'm really happy with how my car sits now.

Let me know what you guys think!

This is how it started it's life-

And what I've come up with-

I don't have much else planned for the car but then again I never planned on getting to this point I'll update this thread accordingly.

      What's with the title?

Awesome veloster mane. Stance is spot on. Too bad they are XXR's, but they seem to look better on the veloster than 90% of the cars with the same wheels.

Do you plan on doing any engine work, or any body work?

Common notion is it's just a Hyundai so I roll with it. Not serious in any way whatsoever

I'm really happy with the 527s. I love the look and I got them for $112 a piece. Couldn't argue with that

I don't really have any other plans for the car. If it were the turbo which came out 8 months after I got my V, I'd prob do more to it but I didn't get this car for its performance. It's just a reliable daily that gets awesome gas mileage. And I hop on my bike when my 138hp hyundai isn't enough for me

^my Veloster on stockers before I got the 527s

Welcome fellow KDMer I love it, minus the xxr. Are legit wheels coming in the near future?

For your rear coilover shocks can't flip the bottom mount upside down to go lower?

looks great! always good to see more KDM catching on

i'd really like to see some real wide 16" RS' with a taller streched sidewall on a Veloster.

Thanks man. I'm honestly sticking with the XXRs for a while. I love the look and can't justify spending an insane amount of money on legit wheels for it. Like I said, it'd prob be a different story if it was a Turbo.

I've already flipped the bottom mount. It's the spring length that's keeping me from going lower in the rear.

It's not sitting like this now but the end of the struts in the back are even with the bottoms of the mounts.

And the struts are so dang long in the front

It's hard to go any more aggressive than I am without doing serious work. No independent suspension in the back really limits us

I really really dislike velosters and this one doesn't change that a single bit.

                              Good attempt though.
