  • Coilovers For EF Hatch???

Ok I need help with finding coilovers that will fit a 1990 civic hatch! For Under $500 I was thinking maybe Raceland I have heard they are really good but not sure if they will fit. Anyone ever used them???

i'm impartial to the "you get what you pay for" adage and in my brief skimming of S/W i've seen mixed reviews for the racelands. I guess it matters on what your using it for but i would think that racelands aren't really designed for slammed hondas. unlike a macpherson coilover, honda struts don't have the option to adjust the bottom bracket to remove the pre-compression on the strut when they are slammed.

In my experience, i've found that most aftermarket suspension kits made for hondas, can take a 2-3 inch drop before they blow their valve seals out and then start leaking. over the last 4 years i've fragged a set tien SA coilovers & Apex'i WS coilovers riding a half inch lower then my current height.

to deal with the issue, i built my own extended top hats to regain the strut travel that is otherwise bottoming out (or close to it) at those heights. The extended top hats might extend the longevity of a set of coilovers (raceland included).

    Just my 2 cents
