Although S/W is a great site full of members with a lot of knowledge. I would visit R3VLimted.com where its solely e30 information. There are tons of articles with information about lowering e30s and IX models.

Lowering an IX is about the same as lowering a RWD e30 with a few differences. To list just one - the transfer case and front drive axles. Buddies of mine who lowered/slammed IX models have rebuilt axles time and time again, this is due to the fact that when lowering any car the geometry of the entire suspension and parts of the drive train will be effected. It happens so that on the IX models this wear of the axles and transfer case are accelerated. Then again you can have them rebuilt in such a way to eliminate this wear. There are a few articles on the web covering this, I would check them out.

Options for lowering/slamming e30s carry a bit of work unlike other bolt in vehicles. However, two companies I know of the top of my head are JOM and Raceland who developed direct bolt-in kits. This has been covered here in S/W - do a few searches.

Options which require fabrication - Ground Control Coilovers, and a full air ride system like mine also covered here on S/W, visit my thread to get an idea of air ride - link is on my signature.

This is a great article I would give a read just before you go ahead and purchase an all wheel drive e30. Even though they are an awesome sub model of the e30 there are draw backs. http://home.earthlink.net/~hainesinu...ral/iXfaq.html
