  • A not stanced Bavaria

I posted in the new member intro section, but thought I would post over here now that I snapped a few photos of my newest project.

    It is a 1972 Bavaria, with a rebuilt 3.5 from an 87 7 series and a getrag 265 5 speed.

    Deciding between coils and air.

I have narrowed it down to a few wheels. Can't decide if I want 16's or 17's. I want to keep this thing classy.

Open to suggestions to wheels. I want to drive this thing, so I don't want a crazy fitment. Prefer vintage and vintage style wheels.

Let me know what you think.

I always dreamed of an Alpina E3, but I think any vintage 70's wheels should look good. I think TE37V can actually look killer.

Beautiful car. That engine bay is astonishingly clean. As for wheels, my opinion would be to stick with 16s (BBS or Rial mesh, or something similar - they're popular on these platforms because they work on these platforms). I'm hesitant to go up to 17s for my E24; in my opinion, they would appear far too large for an E3.

Beautiful car, can't wait to see it after some work.

Lowering it will happen very soon, I just don't want to be crazy nervous driving around which is why I am leaning towards air.

Right now I am leaning in the direction of a 16" BBS setup, or staggered 16" alpinas, but just curious if anyone had some suggestions. Both of these setups have been done a million times.

DONT DO RS's.. please. seriously that m30 looks at home in the engine bay and the car looks beautiful.. needs something no one ever sees. just wait around until you find the perfect wheels, and when you find them, you will know. and definitely 16. maybe those 3 piece type As FS now..

Looks great regardless. and imho, coils. static just to be THAT awesome. just my $.02.
