Hi guys, first off my name is Razvan, im from Romania, im new to these forums (just recently made my account) however i have been scouting these forums for quite some time now.
Recently i have been working on a project, for the better part of 4 months now, trying to build my own 'stanced' car , in this case my 99' 320i E46.
I would like to show you some pics... Right now in my opinion the car far from being done... but i want to post the pics on here, in hopes that i get any sort of criticism from you guys. Constructive, non constructive criticism, even flamming is accepted by my standards... anything you guys say, i will take as a lesson, and improve.
Am i on the right track? or out of my mind?
Many thanks in advance.

Mmmmm.... I love me some M parallels (even oversized reps)
... oh yeah, one critique. I would come down just a hair in the front. Other than that, it looks really nice and clean.

The reason i havent dropped the front as much, is because i want the car to be paralel to the road, (the side skirt/parallel to the asfalt)
Today i made some work, on the rear axle, which will allow me to drop the car even more on the rear, (almost, to the point where the lip of the wheel gets to the lip of the fender) then ill be able to drop the front more (keeping the car parallel to the asfalt)

damn what are the specs on those wheels?

Well for starters:
The wheels originaly were 8.5j et15 with 9.5j et20. When i fitted them to the car i wasn't satisfied with the fitment, and the stance, the et15 front did not allow me to do the sufficient drop i wanted, (in order for the car to be paralel).
So in order to get more drop, i had the wheels modified. Besided the special adapter rings which i had made (since the wheels have 7 series Hub diameter), i had the wheel hub machined, and trimmed off some material from the wheel hub, enough to make the fron Et from 15 to 19 (without compromising wheel integrity) and rear from 20 to 23, this extra 4 mm in the front and 3 mm in the back allowed me to play more with ride height.
As far as the suspension goes, right now im running the Vmaxx coilover kit, which allows 40mm-70mm drop in front, and 30-60 in the rear. As far as drop goes, im beyond TUV certification :) . I have already ordered D2 RS coilover suspension, waiting for delivery, since this Vmaxx suspension doesnt do me justice with what i want to achieve.
Wheel alignment wise, im maxed out on factory camber settings, (live camber on the rear is 3.4-3.5 degrees) and ive also modified the rear toe-in settings, in order to give the tyres more clearence towards the back of the fender.
As far as tyres goes, im running 215/35s fronts and 225/35s rears.
Just so you know, ive done some more work to the car, sincer the photoshoot posted in the OP, and as soon as i get the new photos from the photographer, i will post them.
Thanks once again guys.

i heard some mixed reviews on the V-Maxx Coilovers but how did you like them? im choosing between getting the V-Maxx or an H&R Cup Kit.

For the price, it does its job well.
Its not a super sport suspension, its very comfortable, and the adjustable part, is a major plus.
The downside is that it doesnt last long as far as longevity goes. Ive had mine for roughly 30,000kms and the rear springs are a bit loose, and worn... so as far as that goes, its a major minus.
Which is why i cannot finish my stanced project, with this suspension.

I like this. Going back to the wheels though - if they are indeed replicas then who makes them?
Raz6633
08-27-2010, 12:17 PM
I have no idea who makes them all i know is that i bought them off ebay (because they caught my eye)
Only wheel specs written on the back, material used, etc etc nothing about a manufacturer.
And now if i search for the same wheels, all i find, are the 8.5 widths, no more 9.5widths apparently.
So i was major lucky :)

Not only do you own a set of 19" Mparrs but you have them fitted on a e46 which is something i've never seen. Thats a double wammy right there.
I fuckin love this car.
