The 1st Annual StanceWorks NorthEast Meet

Well its finally here, the StanceWorks NorthEast meet is OFFICIAL. Mark your Calendars for Sunday, August 1st starting at 1 PM. Its going to be big.

CHANGE OF LOCATION: NOW AT THE ANTHONY WAYNE RECREATION AREA, exit 17 off the Palisades Parkway. The time and date are still the same, we moved here because it has MUCH more parking, and entrance there is free. So please tell your friends TELL EVERYONE with stance to come out and have a blast here. It promises to be an amazing event.
The rules however are still the same there will be NO ALCOHOL, and no amplified music, please treat other park guests with respect because they have as much right to be there as we do.

This is extremely easy to do, once you are on the Palisades Parkway, all you have to do, is get off at Exit 17, it will take you directly into the park, as you can see.

Word of warning....Ive hosted meets at Anthony wayne for the past 3 years ...It has the worst parking lot known to man. At one point it was asphalt but has since been destroyed so there are large rocks and chunks of chewed up asphalt towards the center of the lot. If you stay towards the outside you should be ok but it can play hell with lowered cars..

The location change is plenty of time in advance, and its literally 1 more exit up on the Palisades Parkway, not like 50 miles away... Most people know about the location change it has been posted on forums that this was cross posted on. Everything is going to be fine.

one of the reasons for why im not going to dubs on the delaware is that i just spent more money WF weekend than i really would have liked, plus the week before that i lost a couple hundred in atlantic city. this meet is closer and its free. i need to stop spending money and save my money for a few more parts before h20i. and who knows how much money ill spend that weekend.

This "meet" needs to turn into an event in the future. I was thinking, maybe an indoor event. I've always wanted to show at an indoor event, like how they do in Europe. There's something really cool about indoor car shows, besides the fact that cars look that much better indoors for some reason.

First place that comes to mind that can host an indoor event and happens to be perfectly sized is the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ. Not trying to choose what's local to me, but I feel like Jersey is at the center of the Northeast car scene--for example, I know Virginia rolls hard, so hosting a Northeast show in Connecticut or Boston would be just a bit too far for those folks.

What: Anyone heading to the meet from RI/southeast MA feel free to cruise with us. We're leaving from the Showcase Cinemas in East Greenwich, RI at 9:30am. Be there before 9:15 so we can all talk about the route and exchange numbers and such :eyebrows.

And remember, this is a cruise. I know some of us like to drive fast (:devillook), but we will be doing our best to look inconspicuous and orderly so we don't have any problems. Most of the route is bumpy anyways.

It's over three hours to get there, so everyone remember to fill up and piss before you leave.

yup, wheels are ready and now it looks like i wont be there...in my car at least.

i was on my way home from wilton tonight on the merritt when the serpentine belt started to become increasingly loud...lost power steering and luckily made it off the highway. called aaa for a tow and told them 6 times i was lowered, that i had a low car, and i needed a flatbed. they sent the most amazing tow truck for lowered cars ever!! guy managed to get my car on/off the bed without even scraping my skidplate. anyways, since my car took a crap on me tonight, im just going to do the chains/cams/belt at the same time...unfortunately that wont happen before sunday.

kielan, can we set up some sort of photoshoot once i get my car back on the road...like the end of next week hopefully...

edit: maybe i will be there sunday...going to get a new serpentine belt and hope that its not the tensioner bearings.
