I need less travel in my coilovers so I don't rub so bad. If I increase preload a lot will it help? Or do I need to spend the money on higher spring rates?

you might want to try a higher spring rate.
depending on the car bump stops might not help much !

Just buy stiffer springs. Adding a bunch of preload or riding your bumpstops around all the time is pretty damn ghetto.

Does anyone have a spring company they recommend?

They are just the ones that came on the coilovers through Megan and are 10kg/mm up front and 8kg/mm out back. I was thinking of running 16kg/mm and 14kg/mm.

Swift makes some nice springs for coilovers as far as I know.

this

I cut my bump stop to increase travel, but I would never get rid of it

that's asking for trouble
