  • Buying car with no verifiable income

    So here's the deal

I'm looking to purchase a 07-08 Acura TL Type S

I was 90% close to snagging one, but since I make my money off the books, the dealership couldn't give me the car without "reporting" it.

Do the same rules apply to private party cars?

What rules? I don't see why a dealer wouldn't let you purchase it in cash. You can buy cars all day off craigslist in cash if you wanted to

Apparently, any transaction over 10k has to be reported

I don't really see your issue having them report it..... Other than for tax reasons. I.e. the tax man sees you purchasing a vehicle worth over 10K and claiming little to no income for the year. It's pretty much standard procedure. Did you expect to be able to buy the car with no form of records for the sale? I'm sure even smaller used car lots will have to do the same.

By whom? The seller, when they deposit it to a bank?
                That's on them.

Well that doesn't sound sketchy or anything.

Any legit dealer is going to do papers on cash over 10k

If you want to buy with sketchy seeming money, go to a sketchy seeming seller.

Small used car lots, craigslist, etc

Breaking the law? Post it on the internet for the IRS to find it! You are a moron.
I should quote all of your stuff so it is here for your impending IRS case when they seize your Acura.
