Alright so on my ride right now i have 17x7.5 +43 and it's flush vertically with the OEM fender. I want to get bolt on fender flares and i want my wheels to be flush with those without needing spacers. Fender flares bump out an average of 2 and 1/2 inches so for the wheels to meet the fender flares I'm thinking i need something like 17x9.5 +10 or some other offset near that. Can anyone confirm my math, or give some different advice if it won't work. Also, if i get 10" wide rims would I run into my problems with them touching my coilovers or being to close? Thanks.

buy and install the flares before bothering with offsets for new wheels. but yes, your math is in the ballpark, 9.5 +10 would sit ~58mm further out from stock wheel and you'd have ~8mm more clearance on the inside, so depending how close current wheel is to suspension components/body, you could squeeze a 10" in there.
