So I came to a road with my car, either sell it off and get something new or mod the crap out of it so I fall back in love with it. I took some time to make this decision and came to the realization there are only a hand full of cars that I love in this world and very few that I would feasibly own. So that when the project started...

Preface Stages of my car:

A couple more to keep you vultures at bay...

Masked off the bay from any slag or debris.

Another weekend, another project....
line locks and hidden brake lines. This was my first time bending up brake lines, and patience is key along with the correct tools.

Stripped the fenders off the car, along with the stock front brake lines.

Bye Bye air conditioner lines :) I still have a/c just the lines are re-routed for more of a stealthy look.

Also made this oem track hood, I wanted to cut some vents into. My under hood temps even with all the coolant mods are hot, so the best bet is a vented hood. I did one side so far just to see how I like it. I think it came out good, and time to move on to the next side.

Widebody showed up... Damn those are some big boxes. I laid it all on the lawn to inspect for shipping damage.

A few parts came in, while the motor will be out of the car, I wanted to upgrade a few things. The fuel system was big one for me, It will be upgraded to support 800 ish rwhp (So when I build my motor I will just drop it in.)

And new boost controller went with the Hks Evc 6. Stance is sending me shorter springs in the rear so I can get back down low with the true coils.

So far I have 3 or 4 nights into the cage, and I got the main hoop tacked in, and the rear supports ready to go in. I bought some pvc so that I could practice some of the harder cuts with zero risk. The front forward bars look like they might be short...

04-08-2010, 08:28 AM
Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. Things are shaping up nicely. The rear part of the cage is 100% welded up as of today. Also the reason the front bars are not in place is Kirk Racing messed up and they are about 6-8 inches to short. So I need to call them Monday to see what they want to do.

I am going to make some mock up gussets and test dimple die them, to see how they come out. I am also going to see about recruiting Jess to help me get the sound deadening out of the car. Propane torch and paint scrapper work great its just time consuming. This week I guess I will move my focus to getting all the sound deadening out of the car, reinstalling some of the dash that I removed, Install the evc 6, and get ready to pull the motor. Then I can weld up the few holes that I missed and finish the body work in the bay, paint and reinstall the motor.

whats the point of those things?
The gussets are to tie the cage to the body to make it ultra stiff, and the holes just make it lighter... The dimple puts some strength back into the panel after making all the holes.

Well the main reason for the 2 different seats is the side bolsters. This will make it much easier for the passenger to get in and out of the car.

i can't compare but i had to sell my Volvo S70 because it was too hard to honor the bills...
i am not saying something negative, i just try to imagine how american people live.

Anyway, great build and keep up the good work, can't wait to see the G on the road! ;)

Honestly, I do it by working long hours and many jobs. I work hard to play hard. I have 3 jobs and take side car work to make some extra cash. The A4 is Jess's car, which she pays for... I guess you would call me dedicated and strong willed, if I want something I am willing to do what ever it takes to get there.

Ps Thank you guys for the compliments they really do mean a lot to me.

Absolutely dude.. Thats what I love about this build...

Im working nightshift right now as I type this.. I was working 18 hour days at one stage and all of it has gone towards debt from cars or the cars themselves.. When people down here say to me, how can you afford all these badass parts, I have the exact same reaction as what you just had.. Only debt can catch up on you, so atm Im focusing on that..

Inspirational dude, to say the least!

Since i really understand that and it is not really in our labor culture here, i tried to, i have a second work, when i am at my major work i tried to grab some side projects i can do without been catch...
from those side projects i will grab a MIG next month, i did never expect that...

Anyway, glad you did not take what i said in the wrong way!
