View Full Version : GreenGoblin Build
This is going to be a heavy hitter. I had a APSTT'd g35 and I miss the piss out of the car, I dreamed about the apr widebody for months.
Everything is top notch, only thing I would of done different is not molded the body. But its what ever makes you happy.
Signal green is going to be tits.

Very cool, why did you get rid of it? Is that your viper in the avi? You are not to far from me surprised we never bumped into each other at any meets.

Yeah, I use to go to alot of the boca meets, coral springs meets and even 27 a good 5-10times. But lately I just relax up here.
Yeah. New car in the AV

Too bad you ditched the kranson klassics, I love mine, but the new ones look pretty similar besides not having the stepped lipThanks but the number 1 reason I don't have the Kranson wheels is I will not support/promote someone that has suck bad business ethics and crappy customer service. If he ran a decent company I would probally still be running those wheels.

Thats not some pep boys wing, im sure that thing produces plenty of downforce.
Funny how everyone sees a wing these days and automaticaly doesn't like it.. People these days play the "i bet its not even for function" card too much these days. I Think the look of the car overall is fantastic, even with the wing. The longer I look at the pics, The more I fall in love with it.

I won't deny it's a quality part, but a wing is to balance a car on high speed turns. It has nor will it ever make a car any faster, just slower and manageable.
And it makes no sence on a form > function car as this.
But ofcouse that's only my 2 cents... And that's not worth much :P

Do you have any plans to add some more front downforce to try and balance it out? Like those little fin things, i forget what they are called.

I won't deny it's a quality part, but a wing is to balance a car on high speed turns. It has nor will it ever make a car any faster, just slower and manageable.
And it makes no sence on a form > function car as this.
But ofcouse that's only my 2 cents... And that's not worth much :P
This has quite a bit of function, the setup he has is good for over 500hp. Im just saying, ive been in cars with and without aero pieces and you can feel the difference at high speeds. If it were mine id have a wing and a diffuser, the stability feels very nice. I know styling wise its personal preference, I happen to like big wings on cars that can actually use them. I'm not saying you have to like it, i was just pointing out that it does serve a purpose :)

This build is fucking epic. When I first started lurking on this site I saw this build and followed it with my mouth open in awe the whole time. Its coming along quite nicely. I am not a big 'wing' guy, but I can appreciate a Carbon Fiber wing on this car.
p.s. i like your boy 'blue'

wow that shit is huge. is it made for the g35, caz it sits perfectly on the edge of the trunk? are you going to paint the end pieces green?
Yes the wing was made for the g35, hard to tell in the pics but it is all carbon fiber, super light weight.
nice c/f is awesome. any paint going on it?

This is just one of many steps in the puzzle. Many more aero pieces are either going to be hand made, or modified to fit my car. The reason I did not go with something like this...
http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:MgV0HLH2BMPyLM::my350z.com/forum/exterior-and-interior/414151-canards-and-splitters-2.html&t=1&usg=AFrqEzcxO8lMQUDYaguP4e8WrP4PAfBmOg is because it does not exist, if I had a non true dual, stock body 350z then I might have considered it.
I am going to make something along the lines of this

As I got closer and closer to the end of this thread I got irritated knowing that there will be no more pages for me to see the work that's being done to this car. I really admire all the hard work that you're putting in to this build, better yet, you also plan to track this car. Also, taking the time to take pictures of your progression. Simply amazing! I'm envious to the work you're capable of doing, I wish one day that I'll have the money, time, resources, and know-how to do even half of what you are currently achieving.
Just wanted to let you know how much your build is appreciated!

only thing i have concerns about is molding the rear bumper to the body, what happens if you ever need to remove it? well lets just hope you dont
i cannot wait for the paint, and as someone said, painting the ends of the wing would be sweet
but i just dont get it... how do you find time to work 3 jobs, work on the car, and keep the gf happy.

at least i hope thats a funny. unless a clock spring is something important other than keeping time :confused

Thanks guys, unfortunatly the clock spring doesn't go in the clock :( It is in the steering column assembly, it what allows you to have electronics in your steering wheel and still be able to turn the wheel. So right now I have no horn, with the Personal wheel, and radio controls, cruise etc with factory wheel.

So I think I have my issues sorted out. Just so you guys know, I have been battling overheating issues now that I removed the heater. I studied the flow charts etc, and look at the spare heads I have, and if you delete the bypass across the front of the motor and the heater, the t-stat never gets hot water across it to open. I tried everything from spill free funnel to, having the system pressurized and back filled. Still over heated no mater what and stat would not open.
So here is the solution.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k241/Blt2lay/DSC02953.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k241/Blt2lay/DSC02952.jpg

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k241/Blt2lay/DSC02950.jpg
4an to supply hot water from the radiator, to t-stat. I also modified the Nismo stat by removing the tiny plunger to help relieve any air that would want to get trapped.

Great build but did u glass the sideskirts to the quarters and the quarters to the bumper? From the looks of the pictures you just duraglassed right overthe seams. Hope that's not the case. I wish you would have left ther rear bumper in molded cause IMHO it ruins the flow of the car from front to back. The front has the bunper line and the. U get to the rear and there is nothing. Anyways just my .02 can't wait to see it painted and gets me excited to get started on my roomates g this winter.

Soooo much win. Props to you man.Thank you.
No its not just duraglassed.
After doing that much bodywork to a car I would be scared to leave the garage with it, in fear of getting rear ended or something. But you're probably braver than me. ;)I built it so I can fix it, so what is there to be scared of.
good stuff dude!Thank you.

Why did you not glass the seam? I mean all this work and to not do it properly in that area seams pointless. That will crack you know that right?

Small update. I pulled the F-con out in favor of a Haltech Platnium. I am waiting on some new centers from I-Forged, then new exhaust fab, alignment, and tune.
Then finally finish body work and paint.
Seriously Can not wait till this is painted and all finished. Will be one of the greatest cars to have been built with progress on SW.
