I was going to wait until I had more done to it, but I got bored tonight.

My 1971 VW Bug, standard. Bought it last year for a cheap project and have learned that VW's are def a ****/love relationship for me. I have owned a few water cooled ones, but this was my first air cooled. I bought it because it was cheap, had cool wheels, a roof rack, and a fresh motor rebuild. The rest was garbage though.

On the voyage home with my new purchase.

ripped out the plastic dash cover to show the OG color...about 10 colors ago.

and painted black

New bumpers, fog lights, and some color. Home Depot was having a sale on Flat black spray paint, so....

Drove it like this for a week before I decided to strip all the paint off and do something else. No shit, about 10 different colors of paint over the OG blue. I couldnt save it, so I took it down to metal.

Painted the white walls on the tires myself like the old school days

Re-did the interior.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h149/luckbone/a-18.jpg

and some grafix on the door

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h149/luckbone/a-20.jpg

I was going to rust the car....then Mike showed off his newly rusted E28 and I changed my mind. Body work is now being done between the other projects, and paint will be started soon after. Front beam will be shortened by 6 inches and the car will also get slammaged. More to come.

Well, I finally finished this bitch, and put it up for sale. Never got around to slamming it, just lost interest in putting any more work into it...but I'm happy with the finished product nonetheless.
