best tires for 8.5 wide rims

I am not sure where to put this. but I found a set of 17x8.5 et 13 wheels for the e28, and I will need tires and this is where I am stumped? I was looking at 205-50-16's for what is on there now. I think I have 16x8 on the car now and they look right. how will 205-45-17 look on the 8.5 in rim? or should I go with larger tires?

205/45 will stretch nicely.

You'll need a 25mm or so spacer for the rear, and probably a 30 up front if you wanna go flush. Check out the E28 thread in this section for info on a couple of other E28's setups.
