Goooooood god.
I swear, last night, after our convo, I had a dream about them.
They look great. Insane work. Once again I stand beside my claims.

Wait until you see the gain with just a basic Alpha N tune, then with an actual tuned Alpha N setup. I don't think anyone will ever run an airbox again.....

wow, that is just so damn crazy. Definitely looking forward to the performance numbers. I am glad to see a tuner that is going for the approach and style that you are taking with these cars. Old school to the max.

How soon :shifty
I'm working on it! We tossed a general Alpha N tune for the drive up, got back dyno'd and put up some pretty impressive gains but with a ton more work left. We have been swamped so as soon as one of us gets some free time we'll toss it back on the dyno and work with the tune.

You can throw individual filters or mesh covers over them.

i just read through the six pages on bfc, lmfao, god damn that serious guy is a douche bag. Hes like Cartman from south park, hes such an asshole, i don't think he even realizes hes being an asshole. All that knowledge and what does he have to show for it? a basically stock e46 m3, how exciting. Sorry to bring this up in here, im sure you guys dont wanna hear anymore about it.
i bet he doesnt even know why its called a stack

Guys here is pretty much our reply to Bfc thread since they closed it. Aside from that, the bfc thread is pretty much the reason StanceWorks is our companies favorite forum hands down just based off of attitude alone.
For Bfc thread:
"I don't think many people understand the reason why we did this to the car. If you're trying to get at that, this was thrown together just to be a badass, your right. However, we did the math. Solidworks CAD was used to simulate and design the bracketry, adaptors, and airflow velocities. We calculated velocity stack length to the 3ed pulse wavelength at 6000 rpm to maximize hp, it was never designed to maximize the low end torque. The alpha N tune was laid out to lighten up tip in enrichment.
The point of this was to make music, not power. The s52 (not m54) makes a glorious intake ruckus at 6k+ and we set out to expand only upon that. You wont find cutouts on this car because in our opinion, BMW inline 6 doesn't sound its best with open exhaust.
We wanted to make noise, thats it. But the 30 rwhp increase on our dynodynamics was a nice bonus!
We aren't F1 engineers, Nor did we ever claim to be. I guess we should have held our tongues if a forum with so many top level engine designers here. We know that this isnt the best way to run an engine. However it is diffrent and its makes the exact noise we intended. Thats why we posted in rides and styling. If we ever wanted to race this car we would set it up diffrently with an airbox, measure the pressure differintal between WOT and Outside pressure and keep the air as close to ambient as possible. We are even in the process of matching engine internals to support 6-700 more rpm to strech out the top end induction acustics. I hope the intention of the build is clear for everyone.
Dyno Graphs haven't been posted because the tune isn't finalized and we don't have full attention on this shop car right now. There more than a dozen customer cars being worked on before our own cars so when they are done the final graphs will be posted. We feel that we can get at least another 10hp with the tune and we don't like posting things untill we feel they are done."

pretty much, and apparently hes the worlds greatest engine builder and tuner but he drives a bone stock car :alright and all the wannabe mechanical engineers joined on his bandwagon to bash the mod saying that it was pointless for streetability and power increase, yet i'll put money that none of those people could even tell you why its called a velocity stack :rolleyes
