Lucky's build - MB W210 E320

I have been in the process of working on this car for a while now, but with summer here, hopefully I can get more time into this project and have it "completed" within a month or so.

Bought it bone stock and dirt cheap. 1997 E320 with 101k miles. Black Opal (but it looks dark blue).

Within a week, I had W211 wheels, H&R cup kit, tint, and DEPO HID's

Month later, I made a rash mistake and bought some 19" Stern wheels

I think GOD made this happen as punishment for the Sterns. Back ice and no full coverage.

I drove around like this for 4 months. Got some wierd looks.

Got some new parts, and decided to make a custom bumper from two different halves. (Nothings been alligned yet)

And here is where I'm at today. Started sanding for re-spray, just getting the glossy finish down, need to fill in a ton of scratches and key marks from the PO's ownership.

I'll post more when I have it. I am doing all the work myself and when it is done, I know it won't be perfect. It will be perfectly imperfect, and I am more than OK with that.

Too small, they make the car look like a mexi-euro. The 9.5' Brabus rears will go on the front and the fronts will get new deeper outer rings and go on the rear when these tires wear out. They will look sick, trust me.

Ok, just a little update. Ive been busy this week working on the bastid again. Sprayed a test panel of the flat purple and it was way too bright for me...more moneys down the drain. So, I went with a spur of the moment decision and sprayed it flat olive drab instead. Im not sure if I **** it or love it yet, putting the car back together and adding the wheels will make a HUGE difference. Fingers crossed that I didnt just waste two weeks worth of prepping and painting.

Pic is after basecoat and washing off the wetsanding residue, I will flat clear it this weekend.

Wheels are taken apart and being painted this week as well, the front bumper is almost completed. Im still working on the shaving of the rear bumper and side impact strips.

Front bumper is the top half from a 97, bottom half from an 02; sucessfully bonded together, shaved, stretched, filled, sealed and primered. Hope to do a final sanding before paint tomorrow.

Thanks bro. AMG's were bought from a guy on Vortex, then I repainted the centers. They are 17x8.5 ET17 and 17x10 ET18, Im running them on my W126 AMG though. The W210 gets the discountinued 3-piece Brabus until I find a set of Tracers or MAE's that I really like.

Its been a whiole since Ive updated this. The olive drab didnt turn out well at all, so I went with black. Still had my wrecked hood, so I wanted to experiment with it. Rusted hood and boot lid, 'root beer' painted wheels and roof.

I liked everything, but it just wasn't pulled together as much as I wanted. So, back to the AMG/OZ wheels, sanded the rust for a bare metal hood, and painted the roof black.

Not sure how much more Im going to do with this one, it's my daily beater so lower isnt real practical and since its my beater, throwing more money into it wont be a good idea either. Meh, we'll see. Creative ideas are welcome.

Not a feature by any means bro, but it was cool to see a pic in a nation wide mag. I am working on something with the w126 though...on the hush for now. The w202 will prob stay stock as its my girls dd, and she has a hard time not curbing wheels and such.

And after owning this car for 23,000 miles, and the chance of loosing my garage space, I decided to sell it. The new owner (whom knows the accident history) wants it back to stock height and I am putting the stock wheels back on her, so these are the last pics of my w210. Great car, and I will miss it.

Ha, my cars are never finished, it just a matter of when I let go. Had two sets of different wheels half way refinished when I was made an offer I just couldn't refuse. And I did sell two other cars this month :)

Stock H&R cup kit with #1 spring pads, I didn't think it was low enough at all, but my camber kit wasn't cutting it. Now that I know a better way to go, ill go lower on my next w210.
