  • 1982 bmw 316 (e21)

After a mildly terrifying and absolutely freezing drive from Bristol to London (which included the bad kind of sideways at 70mph on the M4), I got my latest project home.

It's a 316 with a brand-spankers Weber carb, rebuilt suspension, 35mm lowering springs and a knackered heater fan.

    Plans:

    - Sort heating.
    - Lop out a coil all-round.
    - SS exhaust.
    - Re-trim the driver's seat base.
    - Rims.
    - Replace horrible fogs.
    - Single lamp conversion.
    - Remove tow bar.
    - Re-paint chin spoiler.
    - German 'plates.
    - Tighten gear-shift linkage.
    - Paint (if I don't get rid before the summer).

    Huzzah.

It's a track car. I intend to crash it. Bending a Volk TE37V every weekend could get annoying.

why would you intend to crash it?

Because I'll be racing it. Crashes happen when you race cars.
