  • Second Annual CAE Spring Mountain Cruise

    When: Saturday, April 14 2012, 11am
Place: Vermont Routes 17 & 125, Meeting in the big parking lot across from Aubuchon Hardware, Waterbury, VT

I have the honor and privilege to once again invite you all on behalf of the Champlain Auto Enthusiasts' Club to the culminating event of your school year. We had great success last year and a fantastic community turnout as we ventured over the beautiful Route 17. This year, we will be adding Route 125 through the Green Mountain National Forest to the map; another stunning drive tucked away in scenic central Vermont.

All makes, models, and types of vehicles and people welcome. Bring a picnic lunch, cameras, and a little spring spirit. Stay tuned for final details!

Little update: as of now, the Mountain Road through Smuggler's Notch is still closed for winter--apparently it was the only spot in the Northeast that actually saw significant snow and ice this winter. So unless it is open within the next two weeks, we will most likely be taking the same route we took last year, Route 17, but starting from the Waterbury end. I will announce further details when we determine more.

Update: We will be meeting in the large parking lot of Central Vermont Gymnastics Academy in Waterbury, VT (Across from Snowfire and Aubuchon's).

Route will consist of Rt.100 to 17, Regroup in Bristol before picking up 116 south to 125, then 100 back north. This brings us along two of the most stunning mountain pass roads Vermont has to offer. Total trip rounds out to about 2.5 hours. Hope you all can make it!
