Lucky's build - MB 500SE AMG

Hey, my name is Lucky, this is Rosalie my 1982 Euro greymarket 500SE AMG. 126k orig miles, one previous owner, maintenance records, and it was turn-key :alright

The day I picked her up.

First thing I did was tune up, fresh plugs and wires, oil change and air filter, and upgraded to a 560 dual snorkel air cleaner...after I polished it of course.

Next was headlights and corners. Got some DEPO euro lamps with bi-xenon bulbs, city lights replaced US style parking lights. Took me a bit to figure out how to re-wire back to euro lamps from the US headlamp re-wire job, but I got it.

Added a euro plate, and removed the front air-dam for fix and repaint.

Picked up some refinished wheels. 17x8.5 with Falken 215/40 and 17x10 with 235/40 AMG by O.Z. to replace the badly painted and curbed up BBS Mahle basket weaves. I will re-finish the BBS in my spare time and add them to my ever growing wheel collection.

Wheels are off the car and as soon as I have a chance, they will be taken apart and the centers will be painted. Have spacers and smaller spring pads to install as well.

Rollin on Brabus 3-piece 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 until then.

I cant compete with Andre, he is the "Euro master", but has definatly been an inspiration with his 540i, S4, and 500E.

This is true, lip is ready for final sand down and then paint, will have pics by this weekend. Wheels are now a different color too :D

Thanks, and yes the centers are now color matched. I also re-polished the outer rings and ordered new wheel bolts. I have quite a bit of money into these wheels now, but it will be so worth it when they come together.

Another small update, Worked well into the night putting things back together as this is my DD while my other cars are all taken apart.
At first I really liked the blue velour interior as it was different, but now It is starting to annoy me. So, I dyed it. This will work until I find a parts car to rip the leather guts out of. Underneath is many sq/ft of Dynamat (sorry, no pics of that).
Back seat done, front seats are coming along. Door cards are now two tone.

Wheels are done, lip is done, seats are dyed black. Time to replace the spring pads with smaller ones, rape the fenders and re-paint those, add the already purchsed spacers, have some gaskets in the engine to replace, and then fill my trunk full of bitches and just drive the bastid.

Besides lowering more, the Front will be left alone, the rear will get 25mm spacers making the ET -8 ...but I must work on the fenders more first.

Nothing new done, and it should be gone in the next couple weeks. Was offered a $5k cash deal or trade for another Euro-spec AMG and I chose the trade to be in the works for December. Ill post up pics of the trade when it happens as a close out of the build.

If it had the Hammer engine, Id be keeping it or selling it for 4 times the amount I am now. The grill was molded when it was repainted by PO. I have yet to see another molded grill on the W126, most of the AMG's just have painted grills. All parts are authentic gen-1 AMG, done in Germany, yes.

Like the Dinan parts with BMW, there is a point system, but AMG only requires 3 parts to be an AMG car.
Mine has the body kit, suspension, steering wheel, and wheels. Exhaust and cams are other options not installed on mine. AMG's paint scheme also color codes all the chrome trim and sometimes wheels.

So, I ended up not selling the car afterall and have done a few miner things since I last posted on here.
Exhaust. I ripped off the cats and had a shop weld up some dual pipes from the headers to an X pipe to a d/i d/o Magnaflow muff with hidden outs, MUCH better! Sets off the euro-spec V8 nicely.
I also lowered the front another half inch and switched to gold bolts on the wheels.

AND..had some real pics taken from various show goers All pic credit goes to them.
