e28 wheels - need stance.

I have a e28 that needs rims. I want to put style 32s and noticed that I can get this in 18x9. I need to know the best offset for the rear. Either 26mm for (e39 fitments) or 22mm (for 7 series). Does anyone know what would give the most lip or the best flush for killer stance?

The lower the offset, the further the wheel will push out in the wheel well. Generally, lower offsets are preferred. On an E28, the lower the offset, the better.
