Converting a coilover to bags

I have been reading up on "universal" bags/air springs and brackets. Have not seen any for VW, but products that claim can be used with your existing coil-overs to convert your suspension to air. Seems pretty straight forward from the pics. Basically remove the springs.

Is this nuts?

Got some answers from VW forum. Most said it sucks, rides crappy.
