Funny to see baller lug nuts on cheap wheels.

Going to withhold judgment on the hood until I see the whole car, but I don't think I'm going to be feeling that either.

Seems it would look better if the grille and hood were separate, but don't guess there's much you can do about that.

A quote from "Vwvortex" where your car was posted.

you're definitely not the only one, stupidest thing I've ever seen done to a car. I won't even visit bimmerforums anymore b/c of all the tools going on about rusted hoods and "stanced" rides.

Hahahaha. While I like this look on Mikes car, not so much on yours. But I do heart you.

I like the hood ride look, but not on this car. If it were an older car then Im sure I would dig it some, but not on an E46. Props to you for trying something different.

If you are that strapped for money, maybe you shouldn't be driving a modded E46?

8 months to afford replica rims and tires is not strapped?

I didn't say buy real LM's. God this is sounding just like the debate on BFC from today. Just forget about it.

No I wasnt meaning it like that man. I take so much each check after paying my bills and everything and put it back for mods I don't make alot of money but I do with what I got :) Other than that I do everything myself AKA maintanance and working on it :)

Cut him some slack, he also just got married. I didn't buy much 8 months before I got married either. Then got married and couple weeks later we broke ground on a new house.

Some would say, even before putting a little away for a mod fund, that dropping as much into savings each month is more important.

I could turbo both cars quickly if I really wanted to. Buy some wheels from Claus and god knows what else I want to waste money on. I like watching my money market go up each month more though. I'll retire earlier and spend time on the beach or in Snowmass.

Totally agree with you there. Id love to get some CCW's on my car, but I rather have some money in the bank just in case, plus I just bought a new Samsung 60" Plasma that cost me a grip. None the less do what you can, remember its a hobby.

After staring at it for a while I kind of like the color contrast but I can't get myself to enjoy rust on a new car.

You should have just fully stripped it and clear coated it.

But if it were me I would have fully stripped it, then had one of my friends lay down painters tape pin stripes all over the hood in a random crazy way and then painted the hood black, remove tape and clear it. Now THAt would be sick. And it would have matched your wheels so nicely.

More like a Dorito...Not feeling the whole rust thing. Must be an acquired taste...or maybe my pallet just isn't mature enough.....

I really like the rest of the car though:D

Needs more ratty-ish stuff to look good IMO. The Rustvagen had the olive drab bumpers minus turn signals, etc. and it all kinda went together well. This is just too modern for the rust too look good I think. Still, props for doing it though, nice to see something new :)

I could never in a million years do that to one of my cars, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing it on others
